Best online payment cards?

Everything sounds pretty good to me, especially the part about skipping those annoying service fees...
but, I guess I'm a bit stuck on the whole checking account thing... how does that affect the annual income limits we have as students? I can't quite remember if it's $10,000 or $13,000 that's allowed to sit in our accounts before it becomes an issue...
I really just need a card for online shopping, and I need it pretty fast🙂
so I was looking into that Bank of America option, but I'm planning on starting a job very soon..
and I suppose I'm just worried about accidentally blowing past that student limit...
I'm not entirely sure how the debit cards work though... do they charge you a monthly fee for those?
