GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Honestly, I still think this Nvidia card is the best one out there.😁

haha, not even, I haven't actually pulled the trigger on a new rig yet. I'm still waiting on some cash to clear in about two or three weeks, so I'm just kicking the tires on different GPUs for a bit longer. 😁

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice. I'm in the middle of putting a new PC together and I'm trying to figure out which of these three graphics cards is actually the best bet for gaming:

Thanks in advance
Dual monitor setup on one GPU? in Desktops ·
And what happens if I just run one monitor and one plasma TV instead?

hahaha, no, that’s not what I meant. What I’m actually asking is whether my GPU is going to take a massive hit if I decide to run a dual-monitor setup.

I was wondering if it's actually worth running a dual-monitor setup on a single graphics card. I'm currently rocking an
Nvidia GTX 960 4GB OC, and I wanted to know if I should expect any issues—like, will things start crashing or slow down significantly if I hook up a second screen?

One more thing—do you play anything on Steam? Maybe we could jump into some games together once I get my new PC up and running. 😁

So, I sent over my build specs featuring the GTX 960. Now I'm just sitting here waiting to hear back from them to see if they still have it in stock and what the total damage is going to be. Thanks for all the help.

Alright, thanks a ton for all the answers and for being patient with me. As you guys have probably already figured out, I don't really know the first thing about any of this stuff.

Hold on, are you talking about the one I mentioned earlier, or that Inno3D GTX 760 you brought up?

Do you think I'd be able to run all the games released up to this point on high settings with this card?

Just one question: am I going to kill my graphics card any faster if I overclock it?

So, I put this build together, sent an email over to DataLink, and finally heard back from them. Since I ended up picking a pretty weak graphics card in my initial list, I was wondering if you guys could point me toward a better option. Also, is there any real point in going for an overclocked model, or is that just marketing fluff?

So, I was looking at this setup again: an Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz with that 6MB cache on the 1150 socket. It’s a bit of a relic, isn't it? Not exactly cutting-edge by today's standards, but it still holds its own if you aren't trying to run the latest AAA titles on max settings. Just one of those parts that reminds you how fast everything moves in this industry.
Motherboard: MSI B85M-P33
Memory: 8GB Kingston 1600MHz
Hard drive: Toshiba 1TB HDD
GPU: Overclocked Nvidia GTX 750 ti 2 GB GDDR5 128
Case: MS Champion, no power supply included.
Power supply: LC6600GP2V2.3 600W
Samsung DVD RW drives always felt like they were built for one specific purpose: surviving just long enough to get through a single project before deciding they'd had enough. They aren't exactly high-end performance gear, but they get the job done if you don't mind the occasional hiccup. Just another piece of hardware that does its thing and then quietly retires.
So, now I’m looking to get some recommendations on Datalink. I need a decent graphics card that won't completely wreck my bank account, and maybe a case that actually looks halfway decent instead of the usual junk. 😁
Thanks in advance.

Just shoot them an email.

What do you guys think about this build? I'm looking at it for playing current games—do you think it actually holds up, and more importantly, is it worth the asking price? I took a look at that thread, and honestly, it’s just more of the same. You see this all the time in these tech forums—people coming in with a specific set of parts, thinking they've found some incredible deal, only to realize later that they're basically buying yesterday's news. It’s a classic scenario. We have someone looking at a build featuring an Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 on an Intel B85 board, paired with an Nvidia N750GT 2 GB DDR5. On paper, if you don't know any better, it looks like a functional setup. But let's be real: we're talking about hardware that’s seen much better days. Even with dual Channel 2 xDDR3 memory and an Intel H81 chipset, you're fighting an uphill battle against modern software requirements. Then there's the storage and power situation. They're rocking an MSI B85M-P33 HDD SEAGATE 1 TB ST1000DM003 Barracuda 7200, which is fine for basic files, but in a world where SSDs are the standard, relying on a spinning platter like that feels incredibly dated. And while they've got an EVGA 500 w unit to keep things running, it doesn't exactly scream "future-proof." I noticed Adam Moore3 chiming in earlier, and I have to agree with his skepticism. It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, but when you look at the actual performance of something like an Nvidia GTX 750 ti 2 GB GDDR5 128 or even trying to squeeze juice out of a GTX 760, you start to realize how much headroom you're actually losing. If someone is eyeing a Gigabyte GV-N960OC-4GD or an Inno3D GTX 760, they might feel like they're getting a win, but the reality of the current market is much harsher. Even if you manage to find a decent Gigabyte GV-N960OC-4GD or a used GTX 960, you're still working within the limitations of an older architecture. It's a cycle. People chase these mid-range relics thinking they can bridge the gap to modern gaming, but most of the time, it's just a way to spend money on hardware that's already halfway out the door. At the end of the day, unless you're on a super tight budget and just need something to get through basic tasks, I'd tell anyone looking at this to tread carefully. It's not that the parts aren't "good"—it's just that they aren't relevant anymore.

Does anyone happen to know someone here in the States who does custom PC builds based on specific specs? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this. I just realized how little I actually know about computers, and half the stuff you wrote went right over my head. 😁 Thanks again.

I'm pretty new to this 😁 I'm actually coming from out of state, so thanks for putting this build together. I'll try my best to track down all these parts, but just in case I can't find one of them, could you suggest another graphics card that might work?

Adam Moore3 said:It's unbalanced. You didn't list the rest of the specs or the price. Tell me what your budget is and how you plan to pay—cash or credit/installments—and we can figure out something that works for you.

Look, my budget is around $700.

Hey everyone, I wanted to pick your brains on something. Since I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to PC hardware, I was wondering if you think this setup can actually handle today's games

motherboard: Intel B85
memory: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1600 MHz
graphics card: Nvidia N750GT 2 GB DDR5
