Does anyone happen to know how to shut off those constant updates? Basically, whenever I shut down my computer, it tells me it’s installing something... It wasn't an issue before, but suddenly every single time I power off, it tries to install about five different items—and I swear they're the same ones over and over again. It feels like something is stuck mid-install, so it just keeps trying to finish the same task every time I reboot. If anyone knows how to disable this or actually fix it, let me know, because it's starting to drive me a little crazy... 😁 What is it even trying to install anyway? Like, remember how Windows XP used to work without all this nonsense?
So, I downloaded this game in several WinRAR parts, right? Everything seems fine when I start the extraction process, but then I hit this wall—I get an error saying Windows won't let me extract anything larger than 4GB... apparently, because of some setting I picked during the Windows installation, I'm stuck with this limit and can't unpack anything bigger than that. I was just wondering if there's any way to actually get rid of that restriction so I can finally get things working 😉
Douglas Garcia52 and Jonathan Wood5 say: I was actually planning on tossing in 4GB of RAM—but then I found out my motherboard tops out at 2GB, so I guess I’m passing on that idea for now...😁
Wait, how can you be sure about the limit? I’m sitting here with 2GB right now and was really hoping to just pop in another 2GB to get things moving... I’ve got an ASUS P5KPL-AM motherboard—could you maybe check if that thing actually supports 4GB total? Also, I'm running an NVIDIA 9600, so would adding another 2GB mess anything up? I figured it should be fine since I can see there's still an empty RAM slot available...

I honestly can't decide which one should be my main... I'm leaning towards keeping Windows 7, but I'm a bit worried—will it actually handle everything my XP setup does? You know, all my old games and specific programs... I'd love some help deciding which way to go.
Haha, oh man, of course it can! I actually made the jump from XP over to Windows 7 just last week—I just grabbed the right audio and video drivers and everything was smooth sailing... even PES works perfectly fine. Seriously, you can play all your games without an issue, and honestly, Windows 7 is such a massive upgrade over XP... it's night and day.👍
Hmm, I'm honestly not sure if I should even say this since you're a moderator—but hey, I'm pretty sure you aren't going to ban me or anything... 😁 from what I can see in the classifieds, you've got 😁
a lo t o f
stuff
I typed those letters out one by one just so it doesn't look like I'm trying to advertise anything, okay? 😁👍
He mentions it's meant for Windows Vista 32-bit, but honestly, it might just work on Windows 7 64-bit too—you should give it a shot and let us know how it goes, okay? 😉
Nope, won't run—it's definitely for 32-bit 😁I'll keep digging... 😁
Douglas Garcia52 said:You’ve got a point there, but honestly—if you were actually doing anything intensive on your machine, you’d definitely be looking at more than just 1GB of RAM😁
But for your average person just browsing the web or checking emails on Windows 7, 1GB is plenty (exactly like what you mentioned 😁)
I mean, come on, you can pick up 2 gigs of RAM for next to nothing these days$67 so it really isn't much of an issue...😁
He mentions it's meant for Windows Vista 32-bit, but it actually works fine on Windows 7 64-bit too—so if you could give it a shot and let us know how it goes, that would be awesome, okay? 😉
I'll test it out and let you know😁 I'll check tonight to see if it actually works...🙂

Bem, this iPhone keeps messing up all my words 😁 "RAM," "processor," and even "Windows" ended up misspelled... it's driving me crazy! 🙂
Hahhah yeah, I’m still hunting for a decent gadget for my Hotmail account 😁 but honestly—how much RAM and what kind of processor do you really need to run Windows 7 smoothly? I actually just installed it about a week ago and it's been performing beautifully so far... 🙂
Douglas Garcia52 said:Just set up a Gmail account for yourself—then just set up email forwarding from your Hotmail address to the new one... and honestly, that's it. Problem solved! 😁
And what exactly are you getting at with that... 😁
Does anyone know if there's a little gadget or some kind of tool for Hotmail that can give me an alert when a new email hits my inbox? I hate having to manually refresh the page just to see if I've got mail—I saw something about that for Gmail, but I was wondering if there’s anything similar for Hotmail😉
