15.6" FHD models? in Hardware ·

Could you clarify the specific steps to change that setting? 😁

No, my vision is perfectly healthy. I am simply required to work at this laptop; it is not a hobby or a waste of time.

It would be ideal if one could configure specific programs to run at a higher scale while keeping the rest of the OS at a lower scale so everything remains legible. Has anyone investigated how to implement such a configuration?

I have to wonder, at what point during your usage does this supposed "stinging" sensation actually kick in? Does the screen on your other devices bother you similarly? Or perhaps the light from your monitor is an annoyance to everyone else in the room? Personally, my money is on the idea that your brightness is cranked way too high, or maybe your contrast and calibration are just a total disaster, making everything look uncomfortable.

The discomfort began immediately after I purchased the new laptop, though it has since stabilized. I have not noticed any issues when using other devices. However, others frequently intervene by asking if the screen is too small or if it will damage my eyesight. 😁To manage the brightness, I utilize f.lux to ensure the intensity remains at an appropriate level.

This might sound like a trivial question, but do you think pairing FHD resolution with a 15.6" screen size is actually harmful to your eyes? The pixel density on such a small display feels quite intense, and I am concerned about whether the constant straining could lead to long-term vision issues. When I first started using this laptop, my eyes felt a significant stinging sensation and general fatigue. While I have grown accustomed to it after several months, that doesn't necessarily mean the strain isn't occurring.

I wasn't entirely sure which subforum this belonged in, so I ask that the admins move this if it is misplaced.
