I officially filed my appeal today; fingers crossed that we can get this settled before the statute of limitations kicks in.
I really appreciate all the input and advice you've given me.
I haven't had a chance to look through everyone's replies yet. I'm planning to file my appeal this coming Monday; at this point, every single day counts if I want to hit that statute of limitations window. 😁
Honestly, I’d prefer to just pay the fine, but the amount feels a bit excessive $267 considering I was simply defending myself.
I have eight days left to get this submitted, so there's still a bit of breathing room.
Does anyone here have experience drafting an appeal 😬 or know if there's a template online I could use to tailor something specifically to my situation?

Everything you need is right there.
I’m actually completely in the dark on this one—where exactly can I find that information?
Thanks for the help, everyone! 👍
About 21 months ago, I was cited for disorderly conduct following an altercation. After dealing with the misdemeanor court proceedings all through last year, I finally received notice today stating that I have to pay a fine into the state treasury. Now, I'm trying to figure out exactly when the clock started ticking on this case regarding the statute of limitations.
From what I understand, there’s a two-year window before a case expires. Is there any legal way to challenge this or push the whole thing into the realm of being statute-barred?😬
Thanks in advance for the help!
