Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Lisa Kern38 said:Look... you aren't just complaining, you're acting like you're some kind of expert on where traffic signs ought to go... that's what I'm talking about—it's a total mess all over the country. I guess if you had just paid the fine first and then went looking for justice, I wouldn't say anything... you might have actually had a leg to stand on. But this? You're acting like YOU know better than everyone else where those signs belong. What else do you know? Maybe reading tea leaves? Or predicting the future? And as for the police showing up at your house... I mean, who really cares? You complained. What, do you want us to sit here and debate your little appeal now?

p.s. Read back what you wrote: "we all know how this country works." Yeah—it's people like you that make it so we all know exactly how this country works.

Just be embarrassed by yourself, honestly.

Why would anyone pay the government if they can dodge it? You're such a damn "saint."😂

Alright, I really stepped in it this time. 🙄

I crossed over a solid double yellow line—on a perfectly straight, clear stretch of road, mind you—while the lady driving ahead of me was crawling along at about 31 miles mph, and the police pulled me over.

Long story short, the fine is $100. ☕

Now, since I’d much rather keep my hard-earned cash than hand it over to the state, I was wondering if there is any way to opt for community service instead. Does that even exist as an option?

Has anyone here actually dealt with this before?

Does anyone know what kind of work you can actually get assigned to do?

And how does the whole process even work?

I've had community service credits totaling $1000 sitting there for three years now, and I haven't received a single call. From what I hear, that option isn't really fully functional here in the States yet. 🤷

It’s not officially regulated by law yet. Once it is, you might be able to work in nursing homes or something similar... or so I've heard. That's all I know...
