Without those hundreds of billions of dollars circulating, the USA would fall apart overnight.

One thing about drugs is that they’re addictive; once you're in, you've got this extra recurring expense you just can't shake. It's similar with prostitution, except instead of physical addiction, it's more of a social one. Both activities seem voluntary on the surface, but in reality, both the dealers/providers and the users end up caught in a trap they can't escape. It’s like that old trick with the monkey—you know, where you put a banana inside a jar with a narrow opening? The monkey sticks its hand in, grabs the fruit, but then can't pull its hand back out because the opening is too tight. Because the monkey won't let go of the banana, it gets caught. Most activities practically forced upon the West work the exact same way.
