goldenowl said:I want to trade my pixels for an R1—is that actually an option?

Wait, I'm lost... can you walk me through that? I think I'm following, but... just barely.🙄

Thanks for all the support, everyone... Look, I get it—the idea is totally played out, a total cliché, but damn it, you’ve gotta try something, right? It’s also true that our tech infrastructure and digital literacy over here in the States just aren't there yet to really back stuff like this. People just don't wrap their heads around these concepts, and honestly, there’s only so much you can do when you're hitting a wall like that... But hey, if by some freak accident things actually click, maybe we could see some momentum... And who knows, maybe some miracle happens and it takes off... You never really know. Maybe there's still a tiny shred of luck left in this crazy world for me to grab onto.

Some guy told me something today that I’m probably going to carry with me forever. It was basically along the lines of: "People are idiots and easy to manipulate; my only regret is that I'm not smart enough to exploit them and make a quick buck." 👍

Of course playing the victim is pathetic... I am 100% with you on that one. But look, there’s a difference—if someone comes at me sideways, yeah, I’m gonna defend myself...
When I’m chatting with people about the whole concept, obviously I'm not gonna be like, "Oh please, just buy a Pixel, I'm broke and life is hard..." That’s just sad. I’m not going to go around begging anyone to pick up a Pixel... It’s pretty simple: if they see the value or just want to help the site grow, they’ll grab one. Besides, it’s not even that expensive... So once things actually start moving... you never know what might happen...
So, acting like a polite shopkeeper here—I’d love to hear your thoughts on what’s working and what’s total garbage on the site... Just keep in mind this thing was thrown together in a matter of days, so we’re basically fixing bugs while we drive. Because of that, I'm all ears for any critiques or suggestions you've got...

As for building a site from scratch... well, you obviously need to know how to build a website, have a business checking account ready to go, and actually do some homework first. Google helps with that... And honestly? If I'm being real with you, I don't even feel like I have a full grasp on everything involved yet...
And why shouldn't everyone have their own page? My take is that the more of us there are, the better our sales will be. We just need to band together, link to each other's sites, and stuff like that...

Look, I’m not even gonna lie to you... I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but my brain just totally blanked. Honestly, if I actually had anything better to do with my life—like, I don't know, running a Fortune 500 company or something—I wouldn't be sitting here wasting my breath building this site and messing around with it. 😢
You guys can think whatever you want, really. Go ahead and judge me all you like, but at the end of the day, I’m the one living in reality. It’s pretty low of you to come at me with all that judgment when you don't even know the first thing about who I am.

Maybe I just grabbed it by accident—it was all swirling around in my head, so who knows? But look, the fact remains: we’re witnessing a total revolution in advertising, and the proof is right there in the exploding number of these sites popping up everywhere. This kind of ad spend isn't even breaking the bank; it’s cheap enough that almost anyone can swing it, but everyone wants that sweet, sweet validation of seeing high traffic numbers to make the whole thing worth the effort.
I really, truly hope this site takes off, because honestly, the only reason I even got involved was to help my folks dig themselves out of a massive hole... Now, they're actually looking at buying a new house, which is pretty brutal since they'll be working themselves to the bone just to pay off the mortgage—and hey, I don't see anything wrong with stepping up to help them out.
I've seen people on this forum tearing apart the guy who first brought this model to the States... Personally, I think that’s a bit pathetic. A person should have the right to do whatever they want, even if his specific approach was a little different from the norm... but I'm not gonna get into all that.

Look, I didn't just grab a bunch of stuff out of nowhere... First thing I did was give my buddies and inner circle a heads-up. That’s why they were the first ones to jump in. They even mentioned they're planning to pick up more soon... I thought about throwing up some random, cheap-looking graphics just to fill space, but honestly, that feels kind of pathetic. The real goal here is getting our crew to stack up as many pixels as possible—once we do that, we can really start driving up those traffic numbers... And then? Then we'll be ready to go toe-to-toe with the big players. We'll handle the taxes, too—I haven't fully sorted all that paperwork yet, but it’s on my radar... Since we're still just college students, we should be able to get that money back through some tax credits, right?

Nah, I wouldn't call that stealing... Look, the guy literally put it out there on his own site—he said anyone can take his concept because he wants everyone to benefit from it just as much as he does, provided you don't go and straight-up clone his website layout and design. Our site isn't even in the same ballpark visually. 😁 And hey... honestly, it’s pretty cool to report that we pulled in 200 unique visitors yesterday, so... if you're feeling generous, feel free to grab some pixels; if not, just spread the word, because someone out there might be looking for a cheap way to get some eyes on their stuff. 👍

Look, I’d love to be pulling in some serious cash in this economy too, really I would—but since my buddy and I co-published this thing, we’re looking at maybe a measly five hundred bucks at most if we’re lucky... 👎 Honestly, any help with getting the word out would be a massive lifesaver, so if you guys are feeling generous... please spread the news to anyone you know. Or, better yet, just grab some pixels... Seriously, today we watched the first hundred units just vanish into thin air. If any of you geniuses have some killer ideas for marketing or promo, hit me up—I’m all ears...

Look, if you’re hunting for some solid advertising that won't absolutely wreck your budget, just head over to www.google.com and get in on the ground floor of what’s coming next in the ad game. You can grab all the deets at www.google.com or just shoot an email over to info@google.com!👍
