Does anyone know about those GPUs labeled as UEFI? Does that mean they’re compatible with both BIOS modes (Legacy and UEFI), or just UEFI?

Will one of those highly-rated 550W power supplies be enough to handle an R9 380X paired with either an FX 6300 or an FX 8300? I guess it depends on how much headroom you're looking for.

PCI-E 3.0 is the slot on the motherboard where you plug in your GPU...

Fine, but then why does it specify VGA on some models if they all have VGA ports? It seems a bit redundant, I guess.

As for why I'm asking here separately—well, it's because I've had to tweak my specs about four or five times now as my budget shifts and I pick up new info along the way. To be clear, I haven't actually built a PC in ten years...😁I've mostly just been stuck working on laptops.

I’m looking at picking up an R9 390 8GB.

1. Which specific version has the best cooling performance, assuming I can find one for under $1000?

From what I’ve been able to dig up, everyone seems to be raving about the ASUS ROG equivalent as a solid choice ($996 @adm.hr).

2. Is there actually any meaningful difference between the VGA and PCI-E 3.0 versions of the exact same card model?

What would you guys recommend for a 650-700W power supply in the $60-$70 range? Is that actually enough to handle an FX 8300 (roughly 95W) paired with an R9 390 Tri-X OC? The specs claim its power consumption hits 375W!

According to the official product page for the GPU:

2 x 8-pin AUX Power Connector

Could someone who actually knows their way around GPUs put together a consolidated list of decent Nvidia and AMD cards, ranked from worst to best—or vice versa?

It would be helpful if the list covered cards in the $500 price range and up, specifically things like:

GTX - 960/970/980
Radeon - 7950/7970/270X/280/280X/290/290X/370/380/380X/380Nitro/390/390X/Fury.

Maybe rank them by performance, but I guess it would also be useful to note the wattage requirements, thermal issues, and whether any of them are massive enough to require an oversized case.

If there’s already a thread like this somewhere, please just point me toward the specific post.

I'm currently putting a gaming rig together, and having a resource like this would save me from digging through benchmarks and review sites every single time a new listing pops up.
