gentletinker7 said:Greetings, everyone—my colleague and I are currently scouting for some agricultural acreage in the vicinity of Indianapolis for a blueberry and berry crop venture. Ideally, we’re looking to strike a deal where someone provides the land in exchange for either a percentage of the harvest or perhaps an annual lease agreement. Does anyone happen to have any leads or insights on how to navigate this kind of arrangement?

If you're interested in the outskirts on the west side of town, shoot me a DM.

Bryan Bennett5 said:Man, just when I thought I finally wrapped my head around this whole damn credit card thing, something else pops up to mess with me. So, here’s the deal. My total credit limit is $4000, right? I haven't even touched the card lately, but then I decided to grab some storage cabinets from a place like IKEA for $2000 and opted for that 12-month installment plan they offer. Based on my math, I figured I'd be looking at a monthly bill of roughly $167—and don't even get me started on interest rates, who cares about that part right now? Anyway, that’s exactly what’s been happening for three months straight. Every month when I log into my JP Morgan Chase online banking and click on my 'credit card account,' it shows I owe exactly $167, which checks out. But once I pay that off, the app tells me I still owe $0.00 and that my approved limit is $4000. Here's where my brain starts melting: if I go into the cards and limits section on the site, it says my agreed limit is $4000 but my available credit is only $2500. Why the hell did they slash my available credit by the full price of the cabinets if the seller gave me 12 months to pay? Shouldn't my available credit only drop by the monthly payment of $167, and then jump back up by $4000 once I pay the bill?

Because otherwise, your total spending capacity would hit $144,000😲, rather than $4.00 (you could theoretically make 12 separate purchases of $4.00 each over 12 months). I don't think the bank is quite ready to let that happen.🤷

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like you're just growing stuff for your own kitchen—if that's the case, just plant whatever you actually enjoy eating.
Just a quick follow-up on what mistytinker26 mentioned; manure is great and honestly essential if you want to grow a decent amount of veggies, but you have to be careful not to let it touch root vegetables—think carrots, radishes, parsley, beets, or turnips. If it does end up near them, it needs to be fully composted—it should lose that rot smell and you shouldn't be able to tell what it originally was. For everything else, though, manure is king, especially for things like tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, or cabbage. For those, I find it works best to bury a clump of it right near the base; they’ll send their roots straight into it and just go wild.

So, where exactly is this land located?
What kind of acreage are we looking at?
Was it originally a field, a garden, pasture, an orchard—or maybe just a rocky patch?
And how far of a drive is it from town?
