Laptop issues in Laptops ·
Hi there. I don't really have a major crisis with my laptop, but I wasn't quite sure where else to turn, so I figured I'd just drop a post here. I recently had to take my laptop in to get the keyboard replaced after I spilled some water on it and the keys stopped responding. Everything is working fine now, but I've run into a new issue: the plastic trim running over the keyboard keeps popping loose. It’s pretty obvious the technician who did the repair didn't secure it properly, because it detaches constantly. I'm wondering if anyone knows which type of adhesive would actually work for this? I'm hesitant to try anything myself since, at the end of the day, it's an expensive piece of hardware and I'm terrified of making things worse—specifically, I'm worried about glue seeping into the internal components. Is there a safe, reliable method to get this plastic to stay put? Thanks in advance!
Greetings to everyone once again.
I have a question for anyone who might be able to offer some insight: I recently reached out regarding my mother, who tested positive for occult blood in her stool. On top of that, she’s been dealing with constipation. Everything seemed manageable until today, when she was hit by sudden, intense abdominal pain. She went to the restroom, and although she says the stool itself looked normal, she was immediately overcome by this massive wave of weakness—she nearly fainted right there. I gave her some sugar water to help, and after lying down for about half an hour, she seems fine now. Is it possible that this episode is linked to the presence of occult blood and potential colon cancer? We are currently waiting for her appointment with the gastroenterologist on February 25th, and frankly, I feel like I’m going to lose my mind from the stress before then. Thank you in advance.
Angela Wright said:From what I understand, when dealing with hard stools, you’d typically use small laxative suppositories, something like Dulcolax, or just some glycerin to help lubricate things along. Regarding Facta, she said:
It might be a bit embarrassing for her to admit

I'm not entirely sure; I was thinking more about the pain during bowel movements being the reason she developed hemorrhoids. We'll find out everything on February 25th. Thanks for the input. 🙂
It’s me again. I have another question regarding whether doctors prescribe Facta ointment specifically for hard stools. I asked my mother why she was using it, and she mentioned that was the reason. If that's the case, then she might not be dealing with hemorrhoids, which actually makes me even more anxious about the occult blood found in her stool. Her bowel movements seem normal now—at least according to her—but I''m unsure how colon cancer typically presents in this regard. Does the stool consistency fluctuate, or is it a constant cycle of constipation and diarrhea? Also, is it possible for blood tests to yield false positives? I apologize if these questions seem redundant while we're still waiting on a definitive diagnosis, but I am honestly terrified and don't have anyone else to turn to without turning to the internet, which only serves to increase my panic. Thank you in advance.
I'm hopeful that everything will turn out alright. Thank you all!
Hello there. It might seem a bit silly for me to be posting here since nothing has been officially diagnosed yet, but looking at the timestamps on this thread, I see people are active, so I was hoping someone could provide some insight regarding colon cancer.

My mother (63 years old) was referred to gastroenterology this week because her fecal occult blood test came back positive. Her appointment is set for February 25th, and she’ll likely undergo a colonoscopy after that, but we’re still in the dark about everything else. The thing is, she is incredibly private about these matters; she didn't even mention sending in a stool sample or experiencing any symptoms until she actually received the referral. I suspect she’s just trying not to scare me, but she is my only family, and I desperately want to be informed. To be honest, last week I happened to see some Preparation H ointment lying around and assumed she was just dealing with hemorrhoids, though she never said a word. I didn't press her because I figured maybe she was embarrassed, or perhaps she didn't want to burden me, or she simply forgot. However, now that I know the occult blood test was positive, the situation feels much more serious.
I am wondering what the actual connection is between hemorrhoids and colon cancer. Is it possible a doctor might assume it's just hemorrhoids only to find out later that isn't the case? Or is a stool sample automatically sent for testing regardless? My mom says she hasn't seen any visible blood, she feels fine, and she had some constipation for a couple of days (which coincidentally lined up with when she sent the samples), but that has passed. Her appetite is normal and she hasn't lost any weight. She undergoes annual occult blood testing and has never had a positive result before. I realize that given her age, she falls into a higher risk category, but obviously, we won't know anything for certain until the colonoscopy is done. If anyone could tell me what to expect from this process, I would be grateful. I am honestly terrified; ever since I heard there was a suspicion, I haven't been able to sleep or eat, and I can feel that Mom is holding things back from me. Thank you in advance.
