Psychotropic medication discussion thread

I had a similar experience where Zoloft caused some pretty intense side effects—though, looking back, that might just be because I was at my absolute lowest point when I started it. Honestly, I stopped taking it after the third pill; it felt significantly worse than just being unmedicated. If you check out the anxiety threads, you'll see a wide range of experiences with Zoloft... there are people who dealt with constant nausea but pushed through it, and it sounds like it actually ended up helping them in the long run. As for me, I’ve switched over to Celexa and haven't felt any side effects at all. I don't think you should have to settle for feeling subpar—why struggle through it if there's a better option out there? That said, if the side effects are manageable, it might be worth sticking it out just like your psychiatrist advised.
At first, I thought maybe my doctor hadn't quite grasped what I was going through and assumed I was depressed too, but then I learned that anxiety and depression often go hand in hand. So, I'm taking the medication and just hoping for the best.
It's a bit confusing to me that Zoloft is classified as an antidepressant when I don't even feel depressed.😕
