Just to give some context, I actually had my spleen removed about 12 years ago due to thrombocytopenia.
Do you think this iron level indicates something specific, or could it just be related to the fact that I'm living without a spleen? Thanks so much!
Does anyone have any personal experiences with taking Cipralex? I’d love to hear what you all think...
I was wondering, what kind of reaction should I expect if I have a little bit of alcohol while I'm out at a festival or just hanging out with friends?
I personally struggle with anxiety and panic disorder, and I'm currently taking one pill a day without any other anti-anxiety meds, though I've noticed quite a few of you seem to be combining it with other stuff...
I was on Zoloft for quite a long time, and whenever I went out and had a few cocktails at parties or something, I honestly didn't feel any different or notice any weird side effects at all. It was just how my body reacted, so you really have to decide for yourself how you want to handle things. These days, I'm taking Lexapro, and it's pretty much the same story—I'll still have a drink here and there. I did hear from others that you definitely shouldn't mix alcohol with sleeping pills or anti-anxiety meds, though.
I actually tried taking Xanax once, and oh my gosh, I thought I was a goner! I passed out by 8:00 PM and then the next day at noon, I could barely even walk, so I decided right then and there that I'd just take one pill and call it a day.
You should give it a shot and see how it works for you, because it doesn't have to be such a scary thing for everyone...
Hey everyone, I’m a little confused about why there’s such a huge panic brewing over my question! I only brought it up because I’d heard somewhere that this medication might make your skin more prone to bruising... I don't really get why people are freaking out or saying you should just quit the medication entirely, especially since the warning label itself lists it as a possible side effect, right? Honestly, when I was taking Zoloft, I noticed similar things happening, and since they belong to the same class of drugs, it felt like a logical connection to me. For what it's worth, I don't think the medicine is bad at all; I haven't dealt with any other issues like weight gain or excessive sleepiness. For instance, once I was prescribed Remeron and it felt like I was in a total coma—I seriously couldn't function for even ten minutes at a time! Some medications are just amazing for some people and terrible for others, so I guess it all depends, doesn't it? I have to admit, this one actually helped me quite a bit, so who knows what happens if I stop... I’d be the happiest person alive if I didn't need it at all, but hey, life happens, I guess. 🤣
I was wondering, does anyone know if it's actually possible for Lexapro 20 to cause bruising on your legs even if you haven't bumped into anything?
Has anyone else out there noticed symptoms like that happening?
Hey there! I was just wondering, where on earth can you actually find psychotherapy services around here? My psychiatrist mentioned that at our local hospital, they don't really offer any actual therapy sessions—they just prescribe me an antidepressant and call it a day. If I actually want to sit down and talk to someone, apparently I have to go through a private practice, and apparently a single session is going to run me about $30 or $40...😠
Carl Jackson85 said:So, here’s the deal with Lexus: it’s officially indicated for treating depression, OCD, or PTSD. They even use it to manage OCD in kids starting at age six. Just to be clear, though—these aren't sleeping pills or some quick sedative to take the edge off. The pitch is that Lexus can help you feel better and tackle the anxiety that often hitches a ride with depression... and that’s basically the official line from the pharmaceutical companies making them. As for the side effects? Most of what they list is pretty much the same stuff you see with any other antidepressant. I’m not going to bore you by listing them all here because, honestly, most of it feels trivial. Besides, let's be real: you’re never going to read about the *actual* nasty side effects in the official pamphlet. From a purely business standpoint, the manufacturers wouldn't find it profitable to explain those using plain English. Bottom line? If you want my two cents, stay as far away from those pills as you possibly can. They aren't going to "cure" anything. And whether they actually make an existing condition worse? Well, that's a whole different conversation. Look, I’ll be blunt: I fall into that group of people who have spent a hell of a lot of time dealing with psychotropic drugs and seeing firsthand how they work—or how they backfire. So, if anyone actually wants to dig into the reality of a specific medication or a diagnosis, feel free to reach out. Cheers.
Hey there...I was wondering about Cipralex 10mg. Does that side effect where it completely kills your sex drive eventually go away, or does it stick around as long as you're taking the medication? Also, how accurate is the claim regarding brain bleeding being caused by this drug? Thanks!

ugh, tell me about it—I've read through those side effect lists on the pamphlet a hundred times myself, so trust me, you aren't alone here 😁--I mean, at the end of the day, you could have a bad reaction to a basic Advil, so...
as for the sex stuff, I've heard things can get a little rocky there too...
How am I supposed to just switch off my brain and stop worrying about this stuff?😂It wasn't even explicitly listed on my paperwork, but I saw someone mention online that it could happen, and now that I actually have to take my dose, I'm totally panicking.
Are you taking any specific antidepressants right now?
I was on Zoloft before and had that exact same feeling, though it eventually leveled out for me. Does anyone know if it works the same way with this medication? If you've been through this personally, would you mind sharing what your experience was like?🤷
Hey everyone! So, I’m currently on a 10mg dose of Lexapro and taking Xanax whenever I really need it. Since I struggle with pretty intense anxiety and some depressive symptoms, honestly, just thinking about these pills is adding a whole extra layer of fear to my plate. I was scrolling through some info online recently and stumbled upon this terrifying claim that Lexapro can cause brain hemorrhages, which is absolutely driving me up the wall because, well, I'm a massive hypochondriac. Has anyone else here dealt with this specific medication, and does anyone know if that scary information is actually true? Also, if I'm being totally honest, I am definitely noticing one side effect right now—my sex drive is basically non-existent, if you know what I mean. Does that part eventually go away with time? Thanks so much for any insight!
