Maybe bump up the Normabel, 4mg feels a little light... maybe try 5mg twice a day just to take the edge off the nerves and tension...

So, on paper, I’m listed as F32, though honestly, it feels more like F40—mostly just dealing with constant anxiety. My doctor writes down F32 even though he knows the whole deal. I’ve been in treatment since 2009. There was this one five-month stretch where, after talking it through with my doc, I was strictly on Klonopin. I started back on the other stuff because I wanted to taper off the Klonopin slowly, but man, no antidepressant really hits quite like that benzo does. Even my doctor agreed. For me, the antidepressants were mostly there to act as a buffer, keeping the Klonopin from dragging me down into that total void of apathy and numbness. I never really felt that emptiness from the meds, but they definitely helped. I think they did their job lately since I managed to scale back the Klonopin and I'm actually doing okay. Psychology is kind of my thing, so I stopped going to therapy ages ago... I'm just super aware of everything and have a good support system around me. It just feels like I've finally gotten strong enough to push through on my own without needing the extra crutches. My brain likes to play tricks on me, though, and sometimes I can't even tell. I'm kind of stuck wondering what to do next. Part of me feels like this "I'm fine" feeling might just be a temporary illusion, like things could fall apart again. I've been on meds for so long that I don't mind taking them, but you know... you just get that gut feeling. I'm no genius 🙂

So, I’m stopping the Lexapro on August 3rd, though honestly, I’m not even sure why. I feel pretty good—had a little stomach trouble for a couple of days, but nothing crazy. It’s been an okay process, really. I’ve bounced around different antidepressants for years, but now it just feels like I don't need them anymore. I don't feel bad, no withdrawal stuff hitting me, but I still feel this weird sense of responsibility, you know? Like, I don't want to mess things up because people can get into trouble when they decide to go rogue on their own meds... It’s already been 15 days and I’m feeling great. Just stuck wondering if I should keep going or just call it quits with 🙂

restlesstrucker15 said:Yes, could someone please clarify if Roche is intended for long-term use? As I mentioned previously, I was prescribed this for non-psychiatric issues. I am asking because I find the effects quite helpful, but I have absolutely no desire to develop a dependency; I certainly have more than enough tolerance for Sanofi and Ambien to deal with in my life.
Man, I've been on it for 5 years now. The most I ever took was 2mg twice a day, but lately it's just 2mg in the morning and maybe 1mg if things get rough. Honestly, if the meds are doing their job, there's no reason to stress about getting addicted. My tolerance hasn't even bumped up over the years, even when I was hitting that 4mg total daily dose; mostly I've just stayed at 2mg.
Sometimes I can even go a whole day on just 1mg. It’s a solid med, honestly haven't found anything better. Works great as both an AT&T and an anxiolytic, plus there aren't really side effects besides feeling a little sleepy when you first start. 🙂

Using low doses of antipsychotics can really take the edge off that intense tension and anxiety when the standard anti-anxiety meds just aren't cutting it. Honestly, doctors these days seem way more likely to prescribe an antipsychotic than something like Clonazepam—which is such a solid broad-spectrum stabilizer, an anticonvulsant at high doses, and a killer anxiolytic at low ones. I think docs are just terrified of the dependency issues, which kind of means they pass up on a super fast, effective way to help people. Since antipsychotics tend to level you out without that heavy addiction risk, it’s easier for them to sleep at night knowing they aren't hooking someone, even if it might not be the most efficient way to help.
With antidepressants, you've gotta give it time. One morning you just wake up and suddenly everything feels... quiet. Normal. No more morning nausea, no more constant dread, just everything feeling a bit lighter.
As far as antidepressants go, Paxil and Lexapro are top-tier. I’ve tried both, and I actually stopped taking them after about a week because they helped so much. But, man, I still use Clonazepam from time to time—without it, the whole treatment plan wouldn't even make sense.
Taking small doses of an antidepressant combined with Clonazepam is basically the gold standard for that heavy tension that doesn't respond to Xanax or NYC-style stuff. Plus, since it has a long half-life, you still feel the effects the next day.
I wouldn't touch antipsychotics, though. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who isn't dealing with psychosis or similar disorders.
There's just too many side effects, and honestly, it doesn't do much for patients who are already struggling with depression and anxiety. Especially when every time they swallow a pill, they start obsessing over those pamphlets and worrying about what might happen to them.
A combo of an antidepressant and an anxiolytic is usually enough to pull anyone out of that lethargy, but that’s only like 20% of the battle. The rest? That’s always been on you, and it always will be. On the flip side, if someone is looking to just get totally sedated on antipsychotics or other stuff... well, that's the wrong way to go about it and it comes with consequences. Always pick the lesser of two evils and talk to your doctor. Don't just let them scribble a prescription and spend five minutes with you and call it a day.
If you aren't fighting for yourself, there isn't a pill in the world that's gonna save you.
Just some Clonazepam for every kind of ache, even the ones in my soul 😁

It helps my depression, but when it comes to anxiety or panic attacks, it does absolutely nothing for me...
Personally, it worked well for me. After five days, the side effects completely vanished, and it gives me a nice boost in the morning, which is exactly what I need. However, they had to add something else to my regimen recently to deal with recent bouts of anxiety, panic, and sudden outbursts of anger...🙄
Yeah, it can definitely lift you out of those dark depressive thoughts, but it can also crank up the anxiety way too much....
For me, starting around day two or three, my palms and feet just start sweating like crazy. I'm just sitting here hoping it passes. Had the exact same thing happen with Zoloft, so I eventually had to quit that one altogether. :/
Anyone else here on Wellbutrin XR, 150mg?
Just wondering what everyone's experience has been like... I've pretty much cycled through every med under the sun, but I've been on this one for about two weeks now. Probably way too early to say for sure, but I'm definitely feeling a bit more spark and energy lately. Like, I don't feel like such a total couch potato for once. 😁
I haven't touched any antidepressants for maybe 3 or 4 months now... just stuck on Xanax at 3 x 1mg... Really want to get myself off these benzos once and for all 😁
So, I started back on Eli Lilly (escitalopram) today. Started small with 5mg, planning to hit the full dose in about a week... Honestly, I thought I didn't even need the AD stuff because Xanax is just so heavy-duty it masks everything... But then, yeah, obviously, I felt all those lovely little waves of euphoria and depression that come with benzo use... Been on Xanax for 4 years, which is a killer med, by the way, but man, the aftermath is real...
Got an appointment in 10 days to figure out the next steps and how to handle this. I feel like I pretty much know what I'm doing, but hey, it’s always easier when some "expert" gives you the green light...
Fingers crossed that the Alicia helps me ride out the withdrawal... It's gonna be quite a show 😁
Man, honestly, it feels like almost everyone ends up hooked on meds after a few years of treatment... I guess some people are lucky enough to never have to deal with a psychiatrist in their entire lives. 🙏crewy:
Psych meds are a total trip, man. They’re legal and they look fine on paper, but honestly? Most of the time they just don't quite fill that void inside us. Sure, you can get pretty faded off some of these "helpers," but it's just not the same high... Everyone’s basically playing the same game—block this receptor, tweak that one, toss in a little bit of this...
My therapist says there’s no such thing as treating anxiety without benzos, or tackling depression without an antidepressant. Honestly, sometimes a benzo will pull a person out of a depressive funk way faster than an antidepressant ever could. If you actually look at the side effects for both—I mean, really look—it’s pretty obvious which one is easier to deal with.
I haven't met anyone who took Xanax, Clonazepam, or Lorazepam and ended up shaking uncontrollably or puking or being unable to, you know, function... But antidepressants? The side effects from those are absolutely insane. 😁
Man, I feel like I always need something to take the edge off... you ever wonder if those meds actually fill those little gaps left behind by old habits? 😉
Switched over to FedEx instead—it's legal, fast, and a total libido killer at 75mg. Now I can actually make it through the night 😁. But hey, it's not like she'll be happy about it :d
Heh, I actually made the switch from Seroxat to Paxil Wellbutrin myself, and man, I was sleeping better than I ever have in my life. Didn't really notice any major weight gain or anything, but I did get super aggressive out of nowhere, so I had to pivot... On the plus side though, the sex drive was insane—from day one, I was ready to go at any second 😁
Mirtazapine is out of stock, but man, if you aren't careful with that stuff, you'll pack on like 20 pounds in a month or so 🙂
So, basically, how much do antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds actually mess with the quality of, you know, a guy's future sperm? I see all these studies saying women should stop their meds if they get pregnant—unless their doctor decides staying on them is better for the mom's health or whatever...
But what nobody ever seems to talk about is how this stuff affects us guys. Does it change the quality? Will using ADs or anxiety meds impact the kids we eventually try to have?
Sorry if someone already brought this up, but I feel like it’s a pretty heavy topic that deserves some thought, especially since so many young people out there are on various types of therapy for different mental health struggles....
Any thoughts at all would be great. 👍
Honestly, Clonazepam hit me like a ton of bricks at first. It’s like you're in a total fog until your body finally gets used to it, but after that? It doesn't really knock you out anymore; it just sort of levels you out. Hard to even put into words, I guess...
Anyway, it actually worked wonders for me. I'm on Effexor now, and I'm thinking about slowly tapering off the Clonazepam, though part of me is wondering why I even bother since it feels so good right now. 🙂
Roger Bennett62 said:Anyone else out there mixing Ventolin and Klonopin? I just switched from doing Remeron and Klonopin over to Ventolin. Honestly, when I was on the Remeron, my sleep was great, but man, my libido went absolutely off the charts. It was like I turned into some kind of total sexual maniac overnight.
Before that, I was on Paxil for about a year, and then Remeron worked wonders by bringing my drive back—just maybe at a level I've never experienced before. Like, I could seriously go at it all day long. Just whenever. 😁
Ventolin doesn't seem too bad so far, and things are still working fine down there, but I feel like I'm sweating more than usual and my vision gets a little blurry sometimes. Hopefully that settles down soon, though, since it's only been 6 days...
Hey everyone.
Anyone else doing this specific combo? Any experiences?
I've been taking Clonazepam 2 x 1/2 for a year now, and just added Effexor (Alvent) to the mix...
