Psychotropic medication discussion thread

So, my doctor wrote me a prescription for Xanax 0.5 to take as needed, but I try to cap it at two doses a day max. Now, if I’m feeling absolutely terrible and I've already taken those two, am I actually allowed to pop a third one? Just talking about my daily limit here, obviously.
