Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Hey, Veronica.
We had a wedding out in the Midwest about four weeks ago. Nothing was traditional about it, and honestly, I don't know why you're stressing over that. Our wedding was pure, unadulterated chaos, and we walked away with nothing but love from everyone there.

Yeah, but we're already past the point of no return. The venue is paid for, the invites are out, and the wedding is set for July 21st—but since we're arriving on the 15th, everything is basically locked in.

James Smith43 said:Personally, the hall in Stittsville is a disaster. Everyone I know who went there for weddings had nothing but complaints. First off, it's all gravel outside; you'll break an ankle just trying to reach the building. The entrance and the parking situation are terrible. And inside the hall, they have BENCHES 👎
I'm not entirely sure if they changed it, but that's how it was before and nobody liked it. I mean—benches?!
Out of all the wedding venues near the Zoo, my favorite was Admiral in Indianapolis. Plus, when you add up all the costs, it ends up being cheaper than Natalie's place in Grades..
I heard they are actually building two new halls in Jupiter, but I have no idea what they will look like..

It just worries me. Honestly, it doesn't matter much; the issue where we live is that if we host something outside our local area, half the guest list won't show up. People want to drink, but then they don't want to deal with the drive home!"
Sure, they are building new halls, but they won't be ready anytime soon. One of them is going to be gorgeous, but it'll be outrageously expensive—they're asking somewhere between $1,500 and $2,300 per event.

I actually had a party at a hall in Indianapolis recently, and honestly, with a little effort and some decent ideas, you can really make a space look great. Plus, they just put in new tiling in the hall, so it actually looks halfway decent now.
I used Photo Specialists too, and I was pretty happy with them. I agree with you—you just have to be very specific about what you want, and they'll make it happen.

Man, we'll just have to wait and see how things turn out on our end. It’s going to be a massive undertaking. The worst part about our situation is that we’re basically coordinating everything from Germany. We aren't even arriving until a week before the event, and from the look of it, the stress levels are going to be through the roof.

Finding an open date near downtown Indianapolis was an absolute nightmare. We finally managed to snag a spot, though it’s nothing flashy. Honestly, we're just going to roll up our sleeves, handle all the decor ourselves, and I'm confident we can make it look decent enough.

I honestly can't say. Maybe we do, maybe we don't.

However, I suppose I’m wondering if they would actually consider taking on a project for Zanesville, or am I perhaps mistaken in that assumption? If anyone happens to know of any other talented professionals out in the Midwest, please do feel free to let me know!

We actually hired Photo Specialists for our wedding right here in town. They are fantastic, really. You just have to be very specific about your vision and tell them exactly what you want; we did just that, and it worked perfectly. We're expecting them to capture our day in a style very similar to what the other guys do.

Rachel Flores5 said:So, I am getting married this summer—specifically on August 11th near Zanesville in the Midwest! Since I’m currently living over in Germany, I'm finding it a bit overwhelming trying to figure out where to track down all those little wedding essentials I'll need back home. I guess I was wondering if there are any ladies on the forum from the Midwest area who might be able to point me in the right direction? I'm looking for recommendations for a talented seamstress, and I'm also feeling a little stuck on ideas for thank-you favors or confetti—basically anything for guest gifts! I suppose I just need some general inspiration for wedding traditions across the whole US. I would be so incredibly grateful if anyone could share a few ideas with me!!

Hey, hi there. My in-laws are having their big thing on July 21st near that same small town. I'm also stuck living in Germany, trying to coordinate the whole mess from abroad. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out—I might be able to help you navigate it. Best of luck, Tyler Wright2!
