Does anyone know where I can pick up some cork bottle stoppers? Also, does anyone have leads on car ribbons?
I checked out Amazon, but they don't carry any purple ones—just the standard white, red, pink, and yellow. None of that works for me. On a side note, if anyone is shopping, there's a huge selection of various reverbs, pads, baskets, tambourines, hair accessories, suspenders, and more available. It’s way cheaper than buying stuff here in Pittsburgh.
(they even have a location here in Des Moines, down in the supermarket)
Does anyone know anything about the Classic banquet hall? I'm wondering about their pricing, the menu options, and how they handle drinks. Also, do they provide their own staff, or should we look for our own servers? And do they offer catering for leftovers the next day? Please share whatever you know! 😉[/QUOTE
They actually have their own catering team and chefs (who are honestly fantastic!), though I think you can always bring in outside help if you really wanted to. As for the cost, you can pay per person, which is easy, or if you want to save some serious cash, you can opt to buy all the ingredients yourself. If you go that route, the chef will just give you a detailed shopping list based on your guest count so you know exactly what to grab at the grocery store. 🙂
I’m just repeating what the owner told us. We sat down with him on March 6th, and those were the rates from the start of March onwards. We even got them in writing in one of their brochures. Same goes for the cabbage rolls and the limit—that's exactly what he said.
I’m not making things up. I’m just laying out the facts in hopes of actually being helpful.
I am so sorry, I didn't mean to sound aggressive! I actually nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that price, so I went back and double-checked, and it turns out we're still paying what we originally agreed upon. Sorry about that!
Maria Ramirez4 said:Here's the breakdown... you pay an upfront deposit $1667, but the total cost drops per head at the end. For 180-190 guests, it's $30; for 190-200, it's $29. And that's just for the first course, folks. If you want their version of stew for the second course, it's $10 per person. If you decide to bring your own lamb or pork, they charge a serving fee of $5.00 per person. Chair covers run $3.25 per person. They don't provide candelabras or flower stands; you have to bring whatever you picked up at the florist.
We asked if we could swap out the second course, and they told us that if we wanted something like cabbage rolls, we’d have to roll them ourselves and bring them in, then they’d cook them for 😲😲😲
Everything—drinks, soda, water, beer, spirits—is handled by them. You can bring your own hard liquor if you really want to, but it won't lower the bill.
Also, heads up: the venue has to be cleared out by 5:00 AM.
So, you do the math. 🤷🤷😕
I’m hosting my in-laws in a suburb outside of Chicago, and I have to say—this part isn't quite right. For 2009, the prices are actually closer to $24-$26. Honestly, I highly doubt they told you that about bringing your own food; most venues won't touch anything unless it comes with a health certificate, so there's no way they'd let you bring stuff from home. Plus, there really isn't a strict cutoff like that.
Oh, I totally forgot to mention—they’re fully licensed!

I'm based out of Columbus, and my wedding is still about five and a half months away, but honestly, we've already dove headfirst into all the planning. We've checked off the band, the venue, and the dress... so right now, we are officially on the hunt for desserts! I'm just not quite sure what the going rate is these days, so I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations?
I've been eyeing the Boso discount shop over at the VC, where they're charging $0.63 per pastry, and apparently, if you order more than 1,300 pieces, you get to pick out a wedding cake for free! I know their sweets are usually pretty delicious, I'm just a little worried about whether the total price is going to break the bank...
...as for everything else... I actually know this really great candle maker located over on Reisner's near the water works; they do custom orders and the quality is just top-notch..
...also, if you're looking for things like boutonnieres or all those little decorative bits, it's probably super worth it to just grab everything at the mall... they have everything in stock... for example, getting 20 boutonnieres would be 2.5 miles... they have tulle, roses, silk bows, just basically everything under the sun... it's the same deal with their decorative ceramics and glassware, too...
...but now I'm wondering again: where do you think is the best place to go to have the bride's bouquet made?
😍
We're going to pick ours up in Babin's Gred $18 kg with delivery to Columbus $67

My in-laws are hosting the wedding this coming spring, so I’m trying to get the lay of the land based on your experiences... maybe some little details I should be looking out for.
I heard a rumor they use those tall, skinny glassware arrangements for the centerpieces? Does anyone actually know if that's true?
And is there any rule against decorating the wall behind the newlyweds?
We have our final sit-down with the owner coming up soon, but I’d love to go in knowing as much as possible! 😁
We actually have a wedding at GreenCove too! When we booked, I asked the owner if they provided anything for the tables, and he told me they don't have anything—everything usually comes with the floral arrangements. Maybe things have changed since then? I was asking back in October last year. As for the wall decor, I'm not sure either.
Does anyone have some good recommendations for a photographer and videographer? Also, has anyone here dealt with a photography fail before?
Samuel Gomez312 said:I heard there’s some kind of Bozino store over in Richmond that carries pretty much everything under the sun—specifically, I'm looking for those little holders for floating candles. If there are any ladies from that area who have been there or are planning a trip soon, could you let me know if they actually stock them? And if so, what's the damage to my wallet? I would be incredibly grateful for the intel.
If someone has already asked this, please forgive my intrusion!
I actually stopped by Bozino recently! They have some really pretty aquarium vases around $10 and those cool square ones, too. I wasn't sure about the exact prices, though, and I think there were maybe only about ten of them on the shelf. Apparently, they get their stock from NIRS in Miami.
