Look, I’m a total sucker for a good deal—price is a huge dealbreaker for me—but hey, everyone’s got their own vibe. For me, that venue just didn't hit the mark at all. Nothing about it really clicked. Plus, I’ve heard some pretty sketchy stuff from other people about their service being a total mess too.

We went to check out Glasser, but we bailed almost immediately. Maybe I’m being too picky, but what can I say? I'm a woman, and those little details really matter to me 🙂 As for the building and the neighborhood, don't even get me started. Honestly, the venue could be top-tier if they just put a little effort into it. The restroom situation is a total disaster—and look, if I’m not feeling the bathroom, nothing else matters. Plus, the space feels way too cramped; I have zero clue how I’d even make that work. Our host didn't even bother showing us the kitchen because she said it was locked, but at that point, I didn't even care since the rest of the place was such a letdown anyway. The price is $53 (for the first two dinners) and that doesn't even include drinks

Hey guys, does anyone have recommendations for where I can grab some really killer pastries or a wedding cake? 👍 Ideally somewhere in the Indianapolis area, and if they aren't going to break the bank, even better!

Has anyone ever used Photo Studio C over in Indianapolis? We’re hunting for a photographer right now, and honestly, I’m dreading it—I absolutely loathe being in front of a camera. If you’ve got any leads or recommendations for the Indianapolis area or anywhere nearby, let me know. It would be a huge help!

Maria Ramirez4 said:Anyone have the scoop on the banquet hall in Des Moines? I’m looking for the full rundown—menus, per-person costs versus renting the whole space, and whether the owners are actually reasonable people to deal with. Also, do they handle the booze themselves or let you bring your own?
PLEASE HELP 😢😢😢

So, we were actually planning on hosting our wedding there because we heard the food and service were top-notch. But we ended up pulling the plug. We tried to work out a deal, but they couldn't make a Friday work for them, and honestly, once I saw the layout, I wasn't feeling it. There's this one wing of the building that feels totally disconnected from the main area, and I had no clue how to even host people there. Since we were expecting about 230 guests, everyone definitely wouldn't have fit in the primary space. On the bright side, everything is brand new, and it would've cost me $50 (for two courses plus drinks), which is a total steal.

Anyone got any thoughts on the Viva band? They’ve got Vlatka Kopić ten singing lead

Anthony Stewart8 said:Honestly, it’s actually pretty decent. They just finished up some renovations recently, so it looks great, and I don't think their prices are out of line at all.
I'm heading out that way in June, so I should be able to give you a proper, firsthand review once I'm actually there.

Sweet, let me know how it goes. I've got a trip planned there on October 17th, so definitely hit me up if anything seems off. We've got Viva playing our set.

Anyone here dealt with a slaughterhouse out in a small town in Kansas lately?

Has anyone ever hosted a wedding at that boutique hotel over on Main Street? I was just checking out their website yesterday—it looks gorgeous, seriously, but I’m a little tripped up by the layout. Apparently, they have these glass doors that can partition off different areas. I really don't want my guests feeling like they're stuck in some separate little corner away from the party, you know? If you've been there or heard anything through the grapevine, please let me know. Also, how’s the food and service? Is it actually top-tier?

Can anyone point me toward a decent bridal boutique that isn't in St. Louis? I’m looking to branch out since the prices around here are absolutely insane—I honestly have no clue what the standard rate even is anymore. I actually really dig Isabelle over on Republic Avenue; they carry that Sposin collection, so if anyone knows of somewhere else with a similar vibe, please let me know!

Maria Ramirez4 said:Anyone know anything about the classic hall? I'm trying to get the lay of the land—what are we looking at for pricing, what’s the food situation like, and how do they handle drinks? Do they bring their own staff or am I going to have to hire outside servers? Also, can they do leftovers or prep lunch for the next day? Anything you can tell me helps. 😉

All I know is the room holds about 400 people, and a basic menu runs roughly $63—I gave them a ring the other day. I'm looking at about 230 guests, so I'm a little worried it might look kinda empty in a space that big, though the owner mentioned he's done smaller crowds before. Honestly, I didn't dig too deep because the price tag felt way too steep for my budget, but if you want the number, I can shoot you a DM

Do you actually have to sign some kind of formal contract when you're renting out a venue? I heard some horror story about a place getting double-booked for the exact same date. Absolute nightmare!

Robert Nelson8 said:A friend of mine hosted her wedding at Central last year. The food was just okay—I’m not sure about their specific menu or pricing, but I assume you can get all those details if you give them a call. They used the back section of the venue for the reception, where the band and dance floor were set up right next to the bar. Honestly, the layout felt a bit disjointed; because of the pillars and the way the room is structured, the guests seated at the far end of the hall couldn't really see any of the action, like the music or the bouquet toss. One thing we specifically disliked and chatted about afterward, though, was how rude the servers were.👎It seems to be a recurring issue at Central, unfortunately. I don't expect anyone to go out of their way to suck up to me, but a simple smile and actually placing things on the table—rather than literally dropping plates from a height—would be much more appropriate.
When she first mentioned having her wedding there, quite a few people in our circle reacted with, "Wait, why there?" So, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else will chime in with a positive experience to help balance things out.🤷

Thanks so much! I was honestly thinking the layout sounded a bit weird, and I haven't really heard of people hosting weddings there very often either.

Has anyone here actually hosted wedding guests at the Central Hotel in Orlando, or maybe just heard some gossip about them?

I was honestly blown away by those florists over in Savannah; the ones here in Indianapolis couldn't even hold a candle to them. Once I finally nail down a venue, I’m going to start playing around with different combos.🙂 I am so ready. Honestly though, the rest of the selection was a total disaster. I basically walked in, spent ten minutes looking, and then just bailed. Thank God I don't live too far from there.

So, what's the word on Jeremiah over in Tennessee? Anyone heard anything lately?

Hey everyone!
Does anyone have the scoop on the wedding venue Melanie is looking at over by the Gate? I’m originally from Indianapolis, so it’s a pretty quick trip for me, and the menu prices don't look too crazy. My only real fear is getting hit with those "pay-to-play" DJs where the music quality depends on how much you tip. Since I'm just starting to dive into all this planning madness, any intel would be a lifesaver 🙏
