Student Loans in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Sorry for digging this up from the archives, but I’ve got a quick question.
So, about these student loans. Is it actually possible to just take out a loan to cover tuition for a single year? I’m heading into my junior year now, and I totally miscalculated my summer job situation—meaning, I *am* working, but it’s definitely not enough, and I can't exactly ask my parents for help since they're currently buried under a home renovation loan. I read somewhere that if you take out a loan, you have to provide proof of enrollment every year. I need roughly $1,000 for tuition, and then I'm hoping to pull my GPA up enough during my senior year so I can pay for that last year on my own without needing more credit.
Basically, can I grab a loan just for one year of school? And when does the repayment actually kick in? Also, since my tuition isn't exactly a flat $1,000 (it's closer to $950), what happens to whatever is left over from the loan?
Thanks a million for any help!
