Have you ever read "Holden Caulfield" by Thomas Mann?
It’s a classic look at that duality—you know, the happy, vibrant, full-of-life types versus the thinkers who are all sort of torn apart by self-analysis?
If you haven't, I’d definitely recommend it—it's pretty interesting and doesn't take too long to get through.
Aside from the book, though, I guess it’s just impossible not to wonder and overthink things sometimes.
But, I feel like you really have to just lean into your emotions—for me, it’s much easier when I just let myself feel them, rather than trying to suppress them or pretend they aren't there.
So, when I'm angry, I don't act like I'm not (especially not to myself!), and when I'm sad, I just let myself be sad—and when I'm happy, I try not to overanalyze that feeling either.
Logic alone is never going to give you an answer that actually satisfies you in the middle of it all—all those "if... then," "what if," and "why" loops just don't help much.
Just embrace your sadness, along with everything else you're feeling.
It's part of who you are—you can't just bury it or erase it by constantly analyzing and staring at yourself in a mirror.
Maybe try talking to people about it instead? And honestly, learn to laugh at yourself a little.
Life is often just totally ridiculous, but it's also kind of wonderful. 😘
