To all my fellow brides-to-be out there: you seriously need to check out studio in... These guys are absolute rockstars. Their whole vibe and way of working will totally blow you away! 👍
redpuma25 said:Has anyone here heard of the Barbarossa or Cupid groups? What’s the consensus on them?

You mean Cupid, right?

I've heard of Barbarossa—they definitely know how to throw a killer party!
Peter Fisher4 said:Hey, it's new here. Where can I jump in?...

Check out the thread on weddings in California—there's even a PDF guide on weddings posted right here on the forum.😁
Peter Fisher4 said:I’ve been to plenty of cookouts hosted by Vice and Vilma... and honestly, I’m totally sold. I’m not worried about a thing.

At the end of the day, it's all about personal taste. What hits for you might not hit for someone else, and that's fine! The main thing is that you're happy with it.

Why don't you come hang out with us at the wedding in California?
Peter Fisher4 said:I was just at the local jazz festival downtown, and honestly, I’m still buzzing. The band they had playing was absolutely incredible... such a vibe.

So, which band are you talking about?
Raymond Brooks7 said:Well, I feel the exact same way about NIRSA... so, we're tied at 1:1.
But here’s the thing: I have cold, hard facts to back up my claims. And when it comes to The Rustic Grill, I have even more solid evidence to support a compliment.
We could easily run a head-to-head comparison. I already know who comes out on top. I also know exactly which player is going to be stuck playing damage control for a long, long time—not just for a new restaurant's reputation, but for the entire parent corporation.

Look, Raymond, don't bother trying to explain things to someone who thinks Nirs is the only game in town... clearly, some people actually prefer unprofessionalism.
The feedback for that Austin spot has been—and will continue to be—nothing but gold... while Nirs can sit there being jealous and dreaming of reaching that level one day. 🙂
Peter Fisher4 said:Regarding the party at The Steakhouse... I actually went recently and honestly, I wasn't feeling it at all. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone—the food was a total disaster, and you could tell a lot of other guests were pretty bummed out too.

You’re the first person I’ve heard say that!😕
Every single girl I know has been raving about Slanica Bistro—the service, the food, everything. So... wow.
A little more intel on the band Orange...

I actually hopped on a call with their lead singer yesterday, and man, she was an absolute gem! She didn't dodge a single one of my questions—seriously, I’m still buzzing from how sweet she was.
For those who haven't heard the scoop, she’s expecting a baby soon. I asked if they'll be back on stage by June 2009, and she gave me a big "you bet!" 😍
They play pretty much everything except for that cheesy country stuff... just a heads up though, prices are gonna jump a bit next year.
Shoot me a DM if you want the full lowdown!

you only fall in love once they say:
VIVA is taken, but the PRO LEAGUE is available... BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!!

Go check out the California wedding thread and ask them about the band situation—those folks there will definitely help you out. 👍

You only get one shot at true love, they say.
Verizon is busy, and the NFL is booked up... BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!!

Just hop onto the Verizon site. They've got a full list of groups with their phone numbers, so just call them one by one... 👍

Noah Rivera21 said:I used the photographer from California because I couldn't get a hold of Smith—and honestly, I don't trust anyone else's work. As for the Bravo band, I’ve been to two of their gigs and I’m still traumatized by how they sound. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 The first time, the sound system was such a disaster that nothing else even mattered. The second time, the lead singer (I think his name is Peter) was so hoarse he sounded like he was literally screaming at us. At one point in the night, his voice just gave out completely, so they just kind of noodled around for the rest of the set. Regarding General Mills, I’ve heard mixed reviews depending on who you ask about their shows.
I am extremely picky when it comes to music. I want a group with a female vocalist who actually KNOWS how to sing, doesn't step on people's toes, and doesn't ruin the dance floor like Victor and Wilma did (they shoved me into the middle of the floor once when I was a bridesmaid). I want pop-rock-latin stuff. Absolutely NO country twang or cheesy folk melodies allowed. Just danceable music, maybe some foreign hits too... I know I'm high maintenance, but whatever.

I'm totally against any country music too! And regarding General Mills, they're awesome in my book, based on what I've heard and what others say.👍
I really want a band with killer drums... man, I've heard nothing but praise for Baker from San Francisco—apparently, they're insane and throw the best parties ever!

Have you checked out Bravo Band yet, rapidmason10?

I’m flying blind here—what kind of vibe are you actually looking for in a band? Give me a genre so I can actually be helpful!
Also, did you get a photographer sorted and handle all those other little details?

Noah Rivera21 said:It’s honestly pathetic how every band actually worth listening to gets booked up a year in advance... it's like nobody wants to actually live their lives anymore. At this rate, music is becoming the biggest letdown of all.

So, when's the big wedding day?

Noah Rivera21 said:Hey everyone, here’s another one just waiting for that big day. If anyone knows anything about the BARBARIANS group, please hit me up with a few quick thoughts on them...

From what I've heard, they're pretty decent. I haven't actually caught any of their live shows yet, but the word on the street is they're alright. 👍

Thomas Sanchez532 said:I heard they’re charging about $35 over at Castle. It probably just depends on what you end up ordering from the menu, though.

Paul, who had their trip on June 21, 2008, ended up paying $35...

Sent you a PM! 😁

brisktiger20 said:Hey there... just wanted to throw in that I'm looking at those Phoenix mashed potato servers from the Dover plant, specifically the 32 E model with the covers. Also, does anyone have the scoop on the capacity for the Castle hall? And does anyone know where that POMAK restaurant is located? thanks...

At the Castle, you've got two smaller rooms that hold up to 200 people and a larger one for 300. My buddies usually pay about $35 per person there.

Thomas Sanchez532 said:Those little arrangements over in Bellevue, Washington look pretty sharp. Do they put those together themselves, or what? I could've sworn the lounge was blue before, but honestly, everything looks really great just the way it is now.

They handle all the arrangements based on what you want—it's totally customized to your vibe...

The whole room got a makeover, too, so it’s definitely worth checking out in person!

I heard Saint Croix is hitting 43 bucks next year too.
