It’s honestly the last one you can listen to from start to finish without getting distracted. Plus, they're dropping deluxe, remastered, and expanded versions of the second and third albums later this year. 🙂
I wasn't even sure if people thought QOTSA was a weaker band, but seeing everyone here dragging them, I figured I'd just go with the flow and join the crowd. 😬

I'm right there with you—Exciter is an absolute gem to me too... 😍
Two weeks ago, I woke up with a fever of 101°F, a pounding headache, swollen lymph nodes, and just felt completely wiped out. I also had a bit of a sore throat, so my doctor put me on some Cipro. A close friend of mine dealt with mono just two months ago, which has me wondering—could this be mononucleosis too? Everything seems to have cleared up now except for those lingering swollen nodes. How long am I considered contagious to others? New Year's Eve is right around the corner, and I’m stressing about whether it's safe to go out and kiss anyone! Has anyone else here gone through something similar? 😢

Everyone trashes this record just because "Most Likely You" is arguably his most commercial track, completely forgetting that a) it’s actually a great song, and b) the rest of the material, including the instrumentals, is top-tier. Also, the self-titled "Bob Dylan" gets way too much hate for him dipping into covers; it’s not a masterpiece, but it’s definitely a solid album, so I won't dwell on it too much. Neil Young - Dead Man - one of the best soundtracks ever made; I get chills every single time I listen to it. And Time Fades Away is such an underrated gem compared to the rest of his early seventies output.
Townes van Zandt I honestly feel like his entire body of work is criminally overlooked. Maybe I'm off base here? But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of his studio albums or live recordings!
Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner Old Tom is right in his element here—glass in hand, cigarette dangling, just entertaining the crowd... it’s a total cult classic among fans.
Buckley - Lorca This one isn't for everyone, but personally, I really leaned into it.
Čorba - tonight musicians who drink will entertain you The only Čorba album recorded for Columbia Records... and hands down my favorite! I genuinely don't get what anyone could dislike about this record. Indifferent to the crying? When Walking? Žika živac?
Jethro Tull - Minstrel in The Gallery Musically and conceptually, this is their most convincing work. Honestly, it blows the more mainstream hits like Stand Up and Aqualung out of the water.
Bob Dylan - Street-Legal... such a fascinating transitional record. It's the only Dylan album where he brought in a full big band (including Stephen Douglas on sax and some female backing vocals). I don't think Dylan's songs have ever sounded so "airy"—I'd even say they sound danceable! Changing of the Guards, Senor (Tales of Yankee Power), and Where Are You Tonight are just a few of my favorites from this unfairly underrated gem...
What should I swap out to make this setup decent? Budget isn't really a huge issue. I work all day, so I usually only have time to hop online in the evenings.
Pick whatever case you want, but you definitely need a better power supply... a Fortron 400w is a solid, budget-friendly choice, sitting around $117
You can't just buy DDR2; AMD won't even be using it until the next generation of A64 processors, and I'd steer clear of Kingmax... If money isn't tight, grab the DDR 400Mhz 2048MB Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 XMS; it’s about $733 and you won't regret it!! Personally, though, I think 1024MB would be plenty—go with the DDR 400Mhz 1024MB Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2 XMS $333 and put the savings toward a better graphics card or a higher-end PSU (like a Tagan for about $233)....
That's honestly pretty much the gold standard I don't really bother with anything else; I just have a built-in firewall on my router, so I don't lose any sleep over hackers

haha but what about the Linux version and everything else? 😕
With the E6, you aren't going to hit the ceiling on any motherboard because the processor itself starts to lag behind, so it doesn't really matter which one you pick. Even an Albatron board like $167 is a fantastic overclocker. Honestly, Taylor Alvarez84 won't be able to tap into his board's full potential at 3000+ E6 anyway—his CPU maxes out at 2600 while the board is clearly capable of much more...
A buddy of mine has a DFI LanParty Ultra-D, a 3200+ E3, a gig of OCZ voltage extreme RAM, and a custom water cooling loop... Basically, 2700 MHz (using 300x9) is the last stable clock he can hit. Anything beyond that, like 270x10 or messing with combinations of HTT, FSB, and the multiplier, is a total disaster. The memory controller on the E3 just completely loses it; at first, we actually thought the motherboard was defective...
Don't go recommending a DFI board to someone who isn't comfortable messing around with all those unlocked BIOS options they offer. For the average user, it’s total overkill; a better bet would be the Epox 9NPA+ Ultra, which goes for about $267 and is an absolute beast for overclocking... As for the E3, they're probably better off avoiding it altogether. With just 2 gigs of RAM, it'll likely keep rebooting on them because of a memory controller flaw that was actually fixed in the E6. Plus, Dual Channel wouldn't even work properly. They'd be staring at the Blue Screen of Death pretty frequently on an E3... And honestly, there's no point even bringing up AGP since basically all the 939 boards out there are PCI-e variants now... A killer choice would be the Sapphire ATI Radeon x800gto2 with 256MB DDR3; you can grab one at Best Buy for around $700, and any of the models mentioned can be flashed into an X850XT Platinum... The stock cooler that comes with the AMD 3000 + is perfectly fine—if the CPU is running at 2400-2600, temps should hover around 45°, which is totally acceptable... If budget allows, though, any beefier cooler is a plus... When picking a power supply, just make sure it offers 2x12V rails totaling 30-38A and everything will run smooth as silk...
Gwyneth Paltrow is holding onto the top spot right now. 🙂 Scarlett Johansson is breathing down her neck, though she's got Clinton's daughter, Alison Brie, hot on both of their tails. 😁(Yara Shahidi, I know—it's basically a sea of blondes here.)
