Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·

I don't know, why would we even try to measure them? I guess based on what you wrote, if nothing else, maybe you have the edge just by the number of times you've been hospitalized.🙈

I guess I’ll throw my own experience into the mix too...
At 21, I had brain surgery to deal with a benign tumor. That thing was the reason I had epilepsy, which had been messing with me since elementary school. Once the surgery was done, the seizures stopped, but then everything else started falling apart. Back when I was studying in Chicago, I managed to scrape by somehow—just balancing classes while seeing psychiatrists on the side. I wasn't on any meds back then. But once I moved back home, things just hit a breaking point. The worst part was the constant fear and those massive panic attacks. My doctor told me I was basically one step away from a borderline diagnosis.
I'm still taking an anti-epileptic, and for a few years now, I've been on Prozac and 1mg of Risperdal. The Risperdal mostly just makes me sleepy. As far as how I'm doing lately, things have been okay for a while. I've picked up some work experience, and right now I'm looking for a job again... I don't have a wife or a girlfriend, either. 👎
