A close friend of mine lives with schizophrenia, and while I care about her deeply, I don't necessarily let her behavior slide just because she’s struggling. I try not to make excuses for how she acts solely based on her diagnosis. I have my own emotions to manage, too, and I can't exactly step into the role of her therapist every single time she has a rough patch. I know they say you find out who your true friends are during hard times, but I suppose I have to look out for my own mental well-being as well.
Since her actions can be so unpredictable, I feel the impact of them quite acutely as a conscious person.
Hang in there 🙂
Little Blue, you should really head over to the psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C. to see a specialist, because that’s exactly what those facilities are there for; everyone here seems to have an opinion on schizophrenia anyway.
I’ve been sitting here reading through your nonsense, and honestly, do you think the rest of us are just living on a silver platter?
I have a family to provide for with my $1333 monthly income, and my son isn't doing well right now either.
But from what I can gather, you don't seem to be struggling much at all.
Besides, nobody has been using electroshock therapy for fifty years now.
You really shouldn't take this forum—or the people on it—so lightly.
If you happen to have the luxury of spending your entire day hanging out online, well, are you trying to act crazy? The rest of us actually have lives to lead.
And we don't all view the world through a single lens like you do; no matter how much you try to present yourself as being open-minded, it just seems pretty foolish to me.
I work for a government agency dealing with mental health patients, and I can tell you, nobody looks at them any differently than anyone else.
Maybe you should find yourself a job. Work tends to be quite liberating!
