Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Look, if that's the case, then $37 I’m looking at more than just an immediate payment, isn't that right? And am I going to be hit with interest on top of all that? Besides, by the time they actually get around to calling me, I'll probably have already gone into labor.

Look, I’m hoping someone here can weigh in with some actual experience or legal knowledge because I'm feeling pretty stuck. A tow truck hauled my car away, and if we're talking $300 total fines, this all started over a month ago. I still haven't paid. I filed an official appeal because back then, I was eight months pregnant and heading to the Democratic Party headquarters; I parked where everyone else usually parks—it was empty at the time—since it's closer to the office and I really need to stay off my feet right now. To make matters worse, I lost my job after my contract ended right when I told them I was pregnant. I laid all of this out in my appeal, submitted it five days after the tow, and included all the necessary paperwork as proof. I sent everything over to Times Square in New York City, but two weeks later, they just sent me a notice saying my case is being handled by the municipal court over on Kennedy. Now, nobody will give me a straight answer. Why am I being summoned to court? Should I be waiting for a specific ruling, or should I just pay the fine now? My biggest fear is that interest is going to start piling up on top of the penalty. They'll call me to court eventually, but I have no idea if they're going to hike the fine just because I've been waiting this long, or when they'll actually contact me, which is stressful since I'm due to give birth any day. I even called the court, and they claim there's nothing in their system yet, even though I got that notice a week ago stating it was their responsibility.
Does anyone have any insight here?? What should my next move be? Am I going to get hit with interest or an increased fine??? And if I end up having to go to court, am I looking at extra court costs on top of everything else? Does anyone know how this works???🤷😕

Harold Anderson3 said:You are truly going through a difficult time, especially since your husband fell ill so shortly after you tied the knot. I think it’s important to remember that you have to view him as both a person and as someone dealing with a serious illness. If you find that you simply can't accept his condition or who he is because of it, then divorce might eventually become an option. I can tell you’re also worried about your son and whether he will be healthy; that really depends on the environment you provide, so please try to focus all your energy on him right now. Just remember: those first three years are absolutely vital. Hang in there.👋

I'm of the same mind—it all boils down to upbringing. I just don't want him turning out aggressive toward me; isn't it true that those who end up that way usually lacked enough love when they were kids, regardless of any medical diagnosis?

I’ll jump in here; I stumbled upon this thread by accident. Just to be clear, I’m not schizophrenic myself, but my husband is. It hit him about two years after we got married—he was only 29 at the time. He lost both of his parents within a single year, and he had to sell the house he grew up in just so we could try to start over somewhere else. That was eight years ago. Fast forward to now: I gave birth to a beautiful son ten months ago, and I just pray he stays healthy. My husband was first hospitalized when he was diagnosed six years ago; he spent three months in the ward and another six on medical leave. Since then, he’s been back in the hospital once more, just for a couple of weeks for preventative care. These days, he takes N/A, once in the morning and once at night, which he’s been doing for about three years now. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without his crying fits, because mine are nothing compared to his. Does anyone ever stop to ask what it’s actually like to live with someone struggling with schizophrenia? There are moments when I genuinely want a divorce. He can be so incredibly immature, snapping at me with these horrible things, and then acting as if everything is perfectly fine. I’m expected to just swallow it and move on, but I refuse to do that, so we end up fighting. If anyone out there is going through something similar, please reach out. I really need to know how anyone else handles a situation like mine.😕
