I took a trip to Scandinavia this week—one of my favorite places—and while I was thinking about Opeth, I decided to go with a "brother band" instead. They play gothic, melodic, progressive, and doom metal, though it really depends on which album you pick. This particular record is their "softest" work, and personally, I think it sounds beautiful. If it were autumn right now, this would be the perfect soundtrack.
Speaking of Enye, they featured her quite a bit in the series 'Life in the North'. There was this one episode involving some lights, and they played one of her tracks at the very end—it was absolutely phenomenal, even though I'm not typically a huge fan of that genre.
Look, if I can stomach all that artsy nonsense like Talking Heads and those other 80s disasters, I can certainly handle some grunge. Honestly, most of what gets posted here feels like pure snobbery—people just trying to prove how cool they are for listening to ambient tracks. 🙏 In reality, the most intense stuff comes from those bands leaning into art-rock, post-punk, and all that other garbage that our favorite leftists obsess over. It’s like "art" is a dirty word. There is nothing worse than that 80s new wave garbage.

I honestly thought this poll would last longer; I haven't even had a chance to get through all the albums yet. It’s a shame because of Chucko—that record absolutely shreds everything else on this list, except maybe John Coltrane. If someone asked me to hand over an album that perfectly defines rock music, I’d give them that Chucko one. It’s got everything.
Side one "Maybellene" "Thirty Days" "You Can't Catch Me" "Too Much Monkey Business" "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" "Roll Over Beethoven" "Havana Moon"
Side two "School Days" "Rock and Roll Music" "Oh Baby Doll" "Reelin' and Rockin'" "Sweet Little Sixteen" "Johnny B. Goode" "Around and Around"
Side three "Carol" "Beautiful Delilah" "Memphis" on Chess Records "Sweet Little Rock and Roller" "Little Queenie" "Almost Grown" "Back in the U.S.A."
Side four "Let It Rock" "Bye Bye Johnny" "I'm Talking About You" "Come On" on Chess Records "Nadine (Is It You?)" "No Particular Place to Go" "I Want to Be Your Driver"
Alright, it's a deal—I won't post anywhere else. If you decide to let me back in, I promise to keep things civil and follow the rules. If not, then it’s nothing more to say. Cheers!
Could you maybe check in with the soccer mods? I was posting over there earlier, and it’s such a bummer because I’ve really cooled off and moved past everything. I’d love to get back in there today—or maybe first thing tomorrow morning—to talk about the UFC. The mods might not even be aware of what happened or know that I'm good to go now.
I mostly just weigh in on combat sports and football. If it works better that way, I can stick strictly to the fight scene. I've actually put together quite a bit of content regarding that, and since the whole sub is really starting to take off, I genuinely want to help build this community.
Could you please check in with the moderator brisktrucker51? We actually had an agreement that if I showed I was making a genuine effort to stay calm, I’d be allowed to post again. I would really appreciate it if you could lift the ban, if at all possible. Thanks.
Stevenson is eyeing a fight with Bad Left Hook https://www.badlefthook.com/2021/3/1...Newsweek Both camps are making noise, so we'll just have to wait and see how this all unfolds.
I need some help with my signature. I’m trying to get my YouTube video to show up as a clickable blue link, but when I paste the URL, it just won't work. If you look at the signature above from mistyhound94, you can see how their elements are highlighted—how can I achieve that same effect?
