Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Harold Harris20 said:My brother’s currently stuck in the hospital on some intensive treatment, and honestly, he’s just not responding well to the meds at all. He came home for the weekend, and things turned into a total disaster again.
Now he's telling us his doctor wants to run a brain scan. Why would they even do that? What are they actually looking for?

They basically just want to rule out anything physical, like making sure the psychosis isn't being triggered by a tumor or something similar. Honestly, I had my head scanned once when I was hospitalized myself.🤷

If you have, I’d love to hear about your experiences—did it actually help or was it a waste of time? Thanks in advance, sending strength to all of you and your families!

Check out this thread right here, just give it a read
Honestly, man, I just don't buy it. 🙂

So, what did they prescribe it for? Like, what's the diagnosis?
I've been on it for about a year and a half now—usually one in the morning and two at night... For the first month or two, it totally knocked me out, but now? Man, I barely even feel it anymore. It's like it doesn't even do anything. 🤷

Sorry to crash this thread, guys! 😁
I was wondering if anyone else here (schizophrenics, psychotic types, whatever) deals with a constant low-grade fever, like staying right around 99°F? Or maybe just a temperature that’s always fluctuating up and down? I've been diagnosed with acute/transient psychosis, and I remember hearing somewhere that people with schizophrenia often run higher body temps, and mine stays pretty much stuck at 99°F. But honestly, whenever I ask around, nobody seems to have any clue what I'm talking about. 😕>
So, I've got an F20 diagnosis myself and my body temp is constantly sitting at 99°F. I'm really starting to wonder if it's linked to my condition or if it's something totally different. I've gone through every single medical test under the sun and everything comes back perfectly normal. 🤷>
