Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Dana Vaughn said:Personally, I don't think it's a bad drug, but in my case, things changed because she used to put me on a heavy dose of Seroquel, which she has since scaled back significantly. I find my memory is slipping, along with my ability to perceive things clearly, make logical connections, or even just concentrate. I honestly can't tell if it's the medication itself causing this, or if some kind of dependency has set in. I've been thinking about dropping the antipsychotics entirely—maybe just sticking with the Depakote—and trying to manage things with herbal teas and St. John's Wort. I really just want to be free from these pills. For context, my diagnosis is other acute and transient psychotic disorders.

Dana, you got a message.

I still don't feel 100% sharp or sober, so it's pretty obvious that this is just part of the deal with this medication. We just have to grit our teeth and push through it.🙂

We will. 😉But tell me—are you feeling totally unmotivated?

Hey everyone!

Quick question—how did you guys feel once you finally stopped taking Zyprexa? Specifically, when your psychiatrist started tapering you off. Did you notice an increase in energy, drive, or just general willpower? I’m asking because I’m currently on 10mg of Zyprexa and I feel totally sluggish and numb—it's rough. I guess I'm wondering if these side effects actually go away once you're off the meds.

Thanks in advance!
