Well, he said he’s hopeful, and honestly—I am too 🙂 👋

We’ve got a powerhouse team and expectations are sky-high—hoping we can close the gap on Mercedes, said Horner.

Just look at this 😳
The internet knows, and even Webber knows!
Ricciardo's gonna be waiting for a shot until 2030 😬🤣
P.S. And no, it's not Photoshop. I have no idea what kind of kid is running their RSS server to be posting news from the future. 🤣

I am prepared to enter into a wager with you. Whatever the stakes may be, I find myself inclined toward the challenge. However... $333
If you don't have it. $333 Don't even bother with the betting. Let’s just meet up somewhere instead. We can hand the cash over to Tibija to hold until the end of the season, film the whole thing on camera, and then have a notary certify the deal. I'll cover the notary fees and the beers, assuming you're actually allowed to drink.
There is absolutely no need to even mention Clown Max. He’ll find a way to drive himself straight into a wall eventually.

2. Lewis Hamilton
3. Verstappen
4. Ogier
5. Rosberg
Hamilton posted two quick clips on Instagram tonight—just him and Toto Wolff hanging out.
"Hey everyone, we're hanging out in Tot's kitchen right now. Just had an incredible meeting. I just wanted to reach out and tell you all that we're going to have the strongest partnership ever next year... we'll be back in the fight for the title. Hope you're all doing good," Hamilton said in the first video.
In the second clip, Wolff chimed in: "Hi everyone. We've spent some great hours together. It was an amazing meeting. We're coming back even stronger in 2017."
stormybadger8 said:Not really. It's more like they got burned by their own hype before, so now they're playing it cool with the media...
You can bet my money that even Sergio isn't going to say much about how incredible that Ferrari was back in 2017...
And honestly, it wouldn't be a shock if any of these cars turn out to be great, just like it wouldn't be a shock if they're total junk...
The point is, you can't learn anything useful about the car from these kinds of statements.
Maybe you can learn something about the person making them, but as for the car? You've got nothing.
stormybadger8 said:Man, these PR statements in the media are such a joke. 🤦
Remember how Ross Brawn was acting back at the start of 2009? He was out there basically saying, "We’re going to absolutely demolish the competition and leave Ferrari and McLaren eating our dust on the track."
Remember those bold claims coming out of Mercedes-Benz before 2014?
And right before the first lap, we had to listen to all that noise from McLaren and Honda claiming they were going to fight for the title, not to mention Sergio Perez's endless rambling about how Ferrari would just stroll to a championship in 2016. 😁
And you're still out here swallowing every word those PR departments and marketing hacks feed the media. Seriously?
Hasegawa—with Honda, a podium in 2017 is actually a realistic goal.
mellowtiger83 said:So, what are you, Nostradamus?
How can you possibly know who will be competitive and who won't?
What does it matter if Lewis Hamilton has a contract? Nico Rosberg had one too.
And why are you convinced Red Bull will remain a powerhouse? History shows us that even Adrian Newey can miss the mark on a concept. Besides, they don't have a factory engine; they are reliant on Renault, and switching fuel suppliers isn't exactly helping their case. Max Verstappen can't carry them alone. He’s an alien, sure, but even he can't perform miracles if the car is fundamentally flawed.
What does it matter if Lewis Hamilton has a contract? Nico Rosberg had one too, right?
Why do you think Red Bull Racing is going to be such a powerhouse?
mellowtiger83 said:Lewis Hamilton already has his mind set on Ferrari. I am convinced there is an 85% chance he moves there in 2018; I'll give him a 15% chance of heading back to McLaren, and a 0% chance of staying with Mercedes.

Just sounds like you're struggling with the reading comprehension here...
Sebastian Vettel says there's zero chance he's jumping ship to Mercedes F1 to take over for Nico Rosberg—he's staying put with Ferrari...

Get off the forum during the break and go back to school—it’s pretty obvious you could use it...
Vettel—we actually had a better car than Red Bull...
Sebastian Vettel is convinced that Ferrari actually had the faster car compared to Red Bull during the 2016 season—he honestly thinks they should've walked away with second place in the championship standings...
Ferrari went into the 2016 season with massive expectations—they were genuinely gunning for the title right out of the gate. Things actually looked pretty promising at first, too. They had a win practically in the bag during Australia, but a total strategy blunder cost them the top spot on the podium. Then, they pulled the exact same stunt at the Canadian GP... just handed a victory away thanks to yet another strategic mess-up. As the season dragged on, Ferrari just kept sliding down the standings—instead of fighting Mercedes for the championship, they ended up scrapping with Red Bull just to hold onto second place...
Red Bull managed to wrap up the season with a massive 70-point lead over Ferrari—who, for the second time in three years, failed to snag even a single win. Sebastian Vettel isn't buying the idea that this reflects their true potential, though... he’s putting the blame squarely on the team for missing out on key opportunities early in the season.
The season was a total rollercoaster—definitely wasn't the smooth ride we were all hoping for. Honestly, I think we would’ve been sitting much higher in the standings if we hadn't dropped those crucial points right at the start of the year. By the time we hit the home stretch, we were basically locked in a dogfight with Red Bull... Honestly, I think we actually had the better package... We really should've finished second... we just dropped way too many points—especially right at the start of the season...
It’s honestly such a letdown that we couldn't even put up a fight against Mercedes—it was just out of reach. But hey, look, there's a lot going on behind the scenes right now that should really help strengthen the team up for next year...
