Nah, they won't kill it unless you ask them to. I just graduated recently and hit up my bank to see what the deal was. They told me I could keep riding the student package wave—both the checking account and the Amex—for as long as I wanted. But, if I actually bother to switch my account status, I’d get those "perks," like a higher overdraft limit, better credit options, or even a "real" Amex. To change my status, the guy mentioned I'd need to bring in proof of full-time employment or maybe some pay stubs from the last three months—or something like that. Honestly, I didn't really care about that part; I'm perfectly happy with this setup because it does exactly what I need. The only real headache is that the Amex limit is tiny, but whatever. 🙂
