The struggle of keeping up with live sports these days
in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Is it just me, or is it getting increasingly annoying to actually watch a game from start to finish? I remember when you just turned on the TV, found the channel, and you were good to go. Now, it feels like a scavenger hunt every single weekend.
I spent twenty minutes last night just cycling through different apps and subscription services trying to figure out where the matchup I wanted to see was actually being broadcast. It’s like they’ve intentionally fragmented everything to squeeze every last cent out of us. You need one service for one team, another for a specific rivalry, and then a third just to get decent streaming quality on your phone when you're away from the living room.
It really takes the fun out of being a fan when the "how to watch" part becomes a bigger headache than the actual game itself. I end up more frustrated with the tech than I am with the score.
Does anyone else feel like the "convenience" of digital streaming is actually just making sports harder to follow?
