What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism?
in Students & Teens ·
I was just thinking about some ideas... if you're looking for gifts, there are some truly beautiful Young Adult books over at Barnes & Noble—everything from heartwarming romances to books about building a solid Christian foundation, exploring faith through tough questions, or those lovely little soul-searching stories by authors like Brenton... honestly, any gift should really just have one label: given from the heart! And regarding godparenting... I feel like being a godparent is really about walking alongside that person through their entire life, especially when it comes to their spiritual journey and their faith as they grow up... we really need to be emotionally and spiritually prepared for that responsibility. It’s a big deal, and I worry that people are starting to take it a bit too lightly these days, which is such a shame... and that goes for all the sacraments, not just First Communion. If you aren't in a position to fully commit to that spiritual guidance, maybe it's better not to accept the role in the first place...
