What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism?

Seriously... things have gotten out of hand lately. I was stressing out big time seven years ago, and I remember people were already freaking out over PlayStations, phones, laptops, and all that junk. It wasn't just the godparents either—the whole extended family was on it. If it wasn't them, someone was dropping at least $1,000$667... and that’s being generous. Same thing with my neighbor who had her celebration last year; she had $10k in cash just sitting there, not even counting the clothes, jewelry, or watches. Back then, I got to pick out gifts totaling $100.. so I went with a white gold ring and a yellow gold pendant. They're nice keepsakes and I didn't need anything else. Now, my brother—who also happens to be my godfather's son—is up next. And honestly? I'm clueless. He's just a kid obsessed with video games and whatever else.
