To feels a bit like you're just going through the motions of a treadmill...
Is that really living? Is that what beauty looks like?

Look, capitalism is what it is—you either deal with it or you opt out. The people you're talking about aren't villains; they're just stuck in the machine, much like the rest of us. You need cash for your kids, groceries, clothes, grabbing a drink with friends, all that stuff.

Ask yourself how you’d feel if you had mouths to feed besides your own—if you had to buy sneakers for someone else instead of yourself, or if...

It’s easy to play the outsider when nobody expects anything from you and you don't expect anything from anyone else. But the second even the slightest expectation pops up from any direction—even just being noticed because you're acting "different" than the crowd🙂—you're sucked back into the system, and sooner or later, it’ll spit you right back out.

The beauty of life isn't found by picking a fight with existence or fighting against what comes your way. If you spend your life battling reality, you're always going to lose. Life is about acceptance—taking the good, the bad, and everything in between, then making smart choices about what you keep and what you toss. That's the whole trick. Once you realize that, there's no room for resentment toward others, because they aren't responsible for your wins or your losses. You made those calls yourself, so if you mess up... well, that's on you. You'll just be smarter next time.🙄

"Living with actual awareness is exhausting. It’s much easier to just exist in some hallucinogenic haze where the shapes of reality are statistically insignificant."

Honestly, all I can think about when reading this is how much it reminds me of those old Microsoft Azure outages or some massive AWS server meltdown... you know, just total chaos from top to bottom. Am I even in the right ballpark here? 🙂
Seriously though, killer write-up 🙏
Local or general anesthesia? in Health ·
I’d say go for general anesthesia every single time, provided there isn't some massive risk involved where you might not wake up... I mean, look, you’ll go see the anesthesiologist first, get all your tests done, and if they give you the green light, just opt for the general stuff. Once the surgery is over and you come to, you're definitely going to be sleeping through the rest of the day and most of the night anyway. You might feel a bit wiped out later on if your body doesn't handle the anesthesia perfectly, but that's about it.
Personally, I wouldn't even dream of choosing local anesthesia for anything involving the head area; the thought of being wide awake while someone is digging around in my throat is just absolutely unthinkable to me.
And honestly, people saying it's "really bad" is such an exaggeration—if it were truly that horrific, tonsillectomies wouldn't be considered one of the most routine procedures out there. I mean, think about how many kids in the States have them done without a second thought.
Tattooing over a scar? in Health ·
Honestly, if I were you, I’d just head straight to a professional tattoo studio and get some actual expert advice from someone who does this for a living. You can't just wing it; sometimes a spot is totally fine for ink, and other times it's a complete no-go, and it all really comes down to how that scar tissue looks. In my experience, once you've had skin damage in a certain area, the texture changes—it isn't as thick or even as consistent as the rest of your skin, so you have to be careful.
