So I just picked up an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M
Total accident though—they sent me this one by mistake even after saying it would work
Now I'm stuck because I can't find an unlocked BIOS anywhere to get my laptop to actually recognize it. Turns out Dell didn't make any laptops compatible with this specific card series
I'm hunting for that m18xr1 unlocked BIOS version 05
Anyone got a link they could drop?
Thanks!

Kimberly Gomez34 said:Exactly, there’s just no logic to it.

Besides, I can't think of a single real-world scenario where someone would try swapping two different GPUs for just one in a laptop.

So I sent my graphics cards over to an authorized Dell service center and they told me both of them are totally fried... right now I only have enough cash for one new card, and the guys at the Best Buy where I usually shop are being super difficult about it, so yeah, that's the situation.

Thinking about swapping out my laptop GPUs! I've got an NVIDIA GeForce GTX series setup right now, but I want to switch to a single Intel Iris Xe with 4GB
Does anyone know if this will actually work? I heard some rumor that you have to keep both graphics cards identical for the system to even boot, which makes zero sense to me. My plan is just to unplug the bridge cable, swap the card, install the new drivers, and call it a day

Thanks a bunch!!!

So I've got this Alienware m18x with dual ATI HD 6900M cards in Crossfire, but they just kicked the bucket on me. Anyone know which graphics cards this beast actually supports?
If you could drop a link, that’d be awesome!

Ugh, getting this error saying I can't split the partition and it won't let me delete them either
Error 0x80070002 is driving me crazy! Can't delete the partition and definitely can't create a new one

So, my BIOS sees the hard drive just fine, but for some reason, the Windows installer won't even kick off! I tried making a bootable USB, messed around with the SATA settings—switching from AHCI to compatibility mode and everything—but nothing works. I even pulled the battery to try a reset, but still nothing. Zilch.

It actually worked once, briefly! It recognized the drive, but then the installation just died. I saw it create a tiny 100MB primary partition, but it didn't even touch the rest of the 500GB space before throwing some random error saying it couldn't install Windows. Honestly, I have no clue what's going on anymore.

Anyone got any tips? Please help me out!
Thanks!
