Bryan Gomez90 said:That’s what I was told, too. A maximum of four flavors, and when I asked about the guest count, the woman said it was for roughly 40 people. I even asked if I could expand the selection, but she just insisted these were their standard cake tasting sets... which is a shame, because their cakes are actually quite good.
I haven't stopped by Zenith yet. Where exactly are they located? And how are their cakes?

I have absolutely no clue what the cakes at Zenith are like, though—to be honest, most store-bought cakes usually taste pretty mediocre to me. One of the rare exceptions is the Stracciatella cake from the Mississippi Delta, so I’m really hoping my wedding cake can be that specific flavor! My plan is to reach out to the pastry chef directly (the lady over at the Delta gave me his number) or maybe even just drop by his shop. They mentioned at the expo that if you have special requests, you can just head down there and work things out with the baker personally.
So, when is your big day?

Bryan Gomez90 said:Does anyone have recommendations for a bakery in Los Angeles that can handle a large, multi-tiered wedding cake? I'm looking for something that won't rely on plastic tiers or supports for about a hundred guests.
I checked in with Magnolia Bakery, but they told me their tiered cakes top out at maybe 40 people. I’m really looking for one massive, cohesive centerpiece rather than one large cake surrounded by ten tiny ones...

I'm actually planning on doing the exact same thing—one big, beautiful cake! I asked around about how many tiers you can realistically stack without using supports, and one lady told me four was the limit. Now, hold on a second—four tiers for only 40 people seems totally overkill, even if the slices are huge, right? So, I checked in with Zenith, and they seemed to suggest that a setup like that could easily feed closer to 180 people.

Nicholas Hernandez7 said:I’m honestly starting to feel a bit desperate because everything is perfectly organized except for the most crucial part—the venue.

The photographer, the band, the flowers, the church—it’s all set and just waiting on the venue selection... but I am hitting one roadblock after another.
Basically, I wasn't looking for some stuffy, traditional banquet hall. I really wanted something near the ocean or a pool, and I’m even open to a lounge or a trendy club since we're doing a wedding for about 100 people with finger foods.
I clearly haven't been smart enough about this 🤷 San Antonio is already booked up, and most hotels won't even allow weddings in September unless you use one of their "standard" ballrooms. What am I supposed to do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking in San Francisco and the surrounding areas for a beautiful restaurant, club, or lounge that can accommodate 100 guests.

I'm not quite sure what vibe you're going for—something super fancy, or...?
If you were thinking of something more laid-back and "homegrown," then take a look at this.
They have listings there and on Facebook, so give it a search.

Olivia Lee5 said:Hi everyone, I could really use some advice here... I'm trying to figure out how far in advance I should be booking the venue, the band, and the photographer for a wedding in the Castleton area (we're looking at places around Castleton, maybe near San Diego; we haven't quite decided on the music yet—if the budget allows, we might look at certain local groups, but if not, we'll stick to more traditional options like the Pink Panther, or perhaps even a vocal group for the church ceremony 😉). My partner and I are starting to talk through our plans for 2026, though we probably won't have everything finalized until this September (it's a bit of a long story), but we're aiming for either May or September of next year. So, I guess my main question is: would it be cutting it too close if I waited until this September to book everything for a wedding in May?
Thanks so much 🙂

Well, it's both a yes and a no—really depends on what you're aiming for!
I remember looking for a venue for a May wedding back in early September, and let me tell you—my options were incredibly slim. For the specific hall I had my heart set on, there was only one single Saturday left available in all of May!

And regarding the band and the photographer—you mentioned several names that I see popping up on these forums all the time, so I'd say you definitely need to "snag" them as early as possible.

But then again, you never truly know until you try.
My best advice? As soon as there's even a tiny hint that you'll be throwing a big party in May, start making those calls immediately! Just make sure you have all your contact info organized beforehand so you don't waste precious time hunting for phone numbers while you're stressed.

Best of luck!

Bryan Gomez90 said:Thanks for the link.... I’d love to handle this myself, but I’m a few 249 miles away from being able to manage it, which is why I reached out to a lady on the forum for some help...

So, when is the wedding date?
If none of the other girls end up sending you any photos, please let me know! I could actually swing by the venue and snap some pictures for you myself—I live pretty close by

Bryan Gomez90 said:Hi everyone, I have two quick questions for the group. First, would anyone be willing to share some photos of the Bellevue Ballroom in San Francisco? I have a wedding coming up there, but my memory of the venue is pretty hazy—all I can really recall is the marble flooring. I have this vague impression that the walls might be pink, but I’m not entirely sure 😂, and I need to finalize my color palette, floral arrangements, and overall theme. It’s hard to plan when you aren't certain what you're working with.
Second, does anyone have recommendations for lighting and event design companies in the San Francisco area? Most of the advice on this forum seems to point toward vendors in New York or Los Angeles, so I haven't found much local information yet. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my gosh,
regarding the lighting situation:

And as for the venue itself—well, if it isn't too far of a drive for you, why not just head back down there and take another look in person? It'll clear everything right up!

Best,
Brian Martin98 said:hey, sorry about that 🙂

There's a salon called Maya right across from the Bellevue—you know, near the Hilton. They do great hair; they did mine for my wedding and a bunch of my friends too.

I'll send you the number for that bakery over by the marina via DM.

Best!

I was also wondering—should I ask for someone specific at that salon, or is everyone there pretty much a pro? Even though I live in San Diego, I've actually never stepped foot in there, nor do I know anyone who gets their hair done there!
God, can someone please point me in the right direction—does anyone know where I can rent one of those bubble machines? You know, the ones that blow those massive soapy bubbles... I’m not even sure if there's a technical term for it, but I'm certain you all know exactly what I mean!

Also, if anyone happens to know a really talented makeup artist over in Savannah, let me know.

Thanks a million!!

Paul Morales12 said:Hey there! I’m brand new to this forum, so please bear with me—I know I probably have a million questions coming your way! 🙂
Could one of you ladies recommend a really talented stripper for a bachelorette party over in San Diego? And if you could, please shoot me their number via PM—I'd appreciate it so much!
Also, I was wondering if anyone might have the contact info for that guy down at the marina who does those incredible wedding cakes?

That’s all for now, I guess!
Thanks a bunch!

Well, nobody actually replied to my very first post yet... 😢
Maybe I'll just have better luck this time around! 🙂

On another note, does anyone know a great makeup artist or hairstylist in Charleston? I really don't feel like driving all the way over to Miami just for hair and makeup.

And, of course, I'm still crossing my fingers for some answers to my first post!

Bye for now!

Raymond Brooks7 said:Siniša Srdanović has a public Facebook profile, so just go take a look.
He strictly handles photography, but he works with a crew of videographers, so you can coordinate through him if you want video coverage... let me know if you need his cell number.

I tried searching for him on Facebook myself, but his profile is set to private—so I could only see bits and pieces from his friends list.😢
