Best business laptop under $2,000? in Laptops ·
Thanks for the suggestion. That one’s definitely my top pick right now. It would be killer if the screen were matte, but I guess I could probably live without that.

I was poking around some gaming rigs too, and honestly, maybe this one might actually work for me:

It feels pretty solid, and I’m assuming I wouldn't even touch the dedicated graphics card unless I really had to, right?

I’ll definitely head over to a Best Buy or something soon just to get a feel for how both of them look in person.

0. Where do you usually shop / where are you from: Washington, D.C.

1. Desired screen size: 17"

2. Resolution: 1920x1080

2a. TN or IPS panel: IPS

3. Reflective or matte screen: matte

4. Primary use: Work—so build quality, reliability, and keeping things quiet are pretty much non-negotiable for me.

5. Do you need Windows? Yeah, though I could just grab a license separately if it saves some cash, so they don't necessarily have to come pre-installed.

6. Any favorite brands or ones you want to avoid:
I’ve been riding the ThinkPad wave for three generations now, but honestly, finding a 17" version in that lineup feels ridiculously overpriced. The current model available here is pushing past $6.75.

7. Budget: Up to $4.25.

8. How important is the warranty: I’d really like at least 2 years.

9. Anything else: Just looking for at least a newer gen i5, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and I guess integrated graphics should be fine.
