Is this rig actually worth picking up?
Can I find something with more staying power in the US for roughly the same amount of cash?

Adding more RAM will definitely help stop your computer from feeling so sluggish, but don't expect it to be a magic fix for gaming performance—it's more about making everything in Windows feel a bit "smoother" during everyday tasks, you know?
I appreciate everyone chiming in, but a special thanks goes out to you.
I’ve never been much of a hardware enthusiast, so a few years back, I just handed my money over to a local shop and let them assemble a PC for me.
It feels like my RAM is the bottleneck causing these sluggish performance issues in certain games, so before I go out and drop cash on an upgrade, I figured I’d seek some counsel from people who actually know their way around a motherboard—and this forum seems like the right place for that kind of expertise.
Here is what I'm currently running:
Two random 2GB sticks of RAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 730 4GB DDR3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16GHz 3.17GHz
I’m planning to pick up two 4GB sticks; which brands can I actually trust, and what else should I be looking out for when I make the purchase?
