Olivia Lee5 said:Sky lanterns aren't actually classified as pyrotechnics, so you shouldn't need any special permits for them. We used to release them right outside our venue, though since our hall was pretty close to the airport, we always made sure to wait until the last plane had cleared out before sending them up. Generally speaking, you aren't supposed to release them 3.1 miles near an airport or in high winds (otherwise they won't catch enough lift, or the wind might blow them straight into a tree, which is a recipe for disaster). It might be a good idea to give the local fire department a heads-up regarding the location and timing if you're doing this during the peak summer season, just to be safe... although, I don't think I've ever heard of a lantern causing an actual fire. People have released them in places like Zadar, Washington, D.C., Krk, Pag, Šibenik, and Split without any issues at all, even in the middle of summer... and then there's Poland, where they launch 30,000 of them all at once 😉

Thanks for the info. Our party isn't until October 18th, so we should be fine, I guess...

7. We had such a hard time tracking down those lanterns back then, but honestly, you can just grab them easily now through the Lanterns page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/lanternalights)
We ended up with 80 white ones and 4 red hearts (for us, the godparents, and the parents)... people absolutely loved them because they’d never seen anything like it before.

To all the big spenders out there: you're gonna need a ton of patience and some serious goodwill... seriously. And on the big day? Just pour yourselves a little heavy whiskey, take a deep breath, and JUST ENJOY IT. 😍

Do you actually need some kind of special permit or paperwork for the lanterns? Like, where did you guys set them off—right in front of the church or at the reception hall?

Maria Bailey4 said:we actually went with Buffett too—tried and true, he's awesome. Some days he just happens to be shooting alongside other pros, but his shots always turned out way better than everyone else's. Totally stoked with our choice!! 😉

We went with Buffett as well. I’m really digging that documentary style he does—it feels real—and the prices are actually pretty reasonable

Bradley King43 said:I feel like I should weigh in regarding Grace.😁

We actually held an event at Grace, and everything was fantastic. Our guests absolutely loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service. Sitting out on the terrace, nobody seemed indifferent to the setting; it really makes an impression. We had a buffet style setup, and as soon as things started running low, the servers were right there to replenish them. Drinks were handled similarly—we had two servers circulating the tables to make sure everyone was taken care of. Since we had arranged it beforehand, they did have spirits available, though if we hadn't requested them, they likely wouldn't have been there, much like what happened at that other party. We even had the option to bring our own or use theirs.
Anyway, I highly recommend the Grace-pure five.

Actually, hold up—this wasn't even about Grace, it was about Castel Slanica...

Jamie Allen4 said:I would like to extend my thanks for the information regarding Graso 🙂 I find myself curious about any further impressions from Castel Slanica, so if anyone possesses firsthand experience, please feel free to share... 😉

The location? Stunning. Space? Fine. Food? Decent enough. But honestly, that was about it. The wine was an absolute train wreck—we couldn't even bring ourselves to drink it. And don't even get me started on the spirits situation; they didn't even have any hard liquor on the menu. We spent the entire night basically begging for a tiny splash of whiskey just to feel human again...

I could really use some help here—does anyone have any leads or advice on where I can stash about 60 guests? (Ideally somewhere near San Francisco). Does anyone know of any rental houses or maybe a hotel that won't charge an absolute fortune per night? Thanks a ton!

Check out Hotel Chicago over by Duilov, that one should be a bit easier on the wallet...

Aaron Brown7 said:It went something like this... we stayed until about 3:00, though we were among the first to head out. I did hear some chatter at the party about there being a specific cutoff time for music, but I’m not entirely sure what it was. As for the restaurant manager... he was constantly hovering and micromanaging everything, which I didn't particularly care for 😁. Hehe. From what I gathered, most people tend to start drifting away once the cake and desserts are served. Regarding the food, you started with prosciutto, French cheese, and octopus salad, then I believe it moved on to beef stew, gnocchi, and croquettes, followed by some other meat with mushroom sauce, and then roasted lamb with potatoes and another meat dish with a side salad 🙂. That’s roughly how I remember it... and then finally, the cake and sweets.

Thanks, Aaron Brown7. Our menu is totally different (except for the prosciutto, cheese, and the French stuff), but hopefully it'll be alright 🙂. Yeah, it probably wraps up around 4:00 because then the restaurant has to start prepping for breakfast... but since about 90% of our crowd is young and everyone loves to dance, I'm curious—even if it goes until 4:00, is 5:00 AM too late? Thanks again

Aaron Brown7 said:I recently attended a party over at the Hotel Park, and honestly, the whole vibe was just fantastic. The atmosphere in the ballroom was top-tier—really hit the mark. As for the staff, they were absolute rockstars; I can't even begin to praise them enough. They were flying around the room, and the second you realized you needed something, it was already there in front of you. Now, if we're talking about the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't blow me away either—it was probably a solid 3 out of 10 on the gourmet scale.🙂 None of that really matters in the grand scheme of things... anyway.🙂 It’s definitely a bit pricey...

Awesome! Hvalaaaaa !!! Do you actually remember what was on the menu? They’ve got four different options, so I just want to see if anything lines up with what we were planning. 😉I mean, yeah... when did you guys actually go? They told us the band wraps up around 4:30, so I’m dying to know if they’re actually flexible about that. Like, if the party is absolutely peaking and everyone is vibing, will they stay an extra bit? Or is it just "lights out, everybody out" once the clock hits the limit? 🙂

Is there seriously nobody here who’s ever worked a catering gig at the Radisson?
So, we went ahead and booked the Radisson even though we didn't actually know anyone there—not that we needed to, because apparently, they’ve hosted massive parties before. The best part about the Radisson is how chill they are; you can basically lock in a date without feeling like you're signing your life away. That reservation stays valid for three weeks, and during that window, they’ll reach out to invite you to one of their upcoming events or weekend receptions so you can actually see the setup in person. It’s like sitting in the restaurant, tasting the courses, and getting a feel for the vibe before you commit... so yeah, just sleep on it. Honestly, we've been hearing nothing but glowing reviews from pretty much everyone lately, so I've got a good feeling this is going to be awesome 🙂

Chloe Ramirez55 said:Hi everyone! I’m looking for some detailed feedback from anyone who’s attended a wedding at the Radisson. I’m seriously considering booking their venue, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on the food quality and the level of service they provide.
I’m feeling a little lost here because I don't really know anyone personally who has hosted an event there, so any insight you can share would be a huge help.
Seriously, anyone!
I saw that May Moon left a nice review, but I’d be so incredibly grateful if someone who actually hosted their own reception there could reach out.
Thanks so much!

So, they went ahead and dropped the venue and the band, and now all I'm left with for this "first phase" is the photographer. Does anyone actually know a photographer who shoots in a documentary style? And I mean *real* photojournalism—I don't want any of that heavy-handed Adobe Photoshop nonsense, endless posing sessions, or those staged, meaningless shots that feel totally fake. Everything I see online lately is just... gross. I want someone who’s going to capture the wedding for what it actually is—the people, the vibe, the raw energy. Also, skip the fancy books and albums; I'd much rather pick out the shots myself and put the album together so I'm not stuck with some stranger's "artistic" vision. Is there even such a thing as a photographer like that anymore? Help!
swiftgardener4 said:Can anyone recommend a decent florist in San Francisco that won't absolutely rob me blind? 🙂
Also, where did you guys end up getting your invitations?
Thanks in advance.

Look, I haven't even hit the flower shops yet, but I've heard everyone raving about TNT—apparently they're the go-to.
Jeremy Barnes5 said:If you mean the one in San Francisco, hang tight until Sunday and I'll let you know how it goes...😉

Man, thanks! Can't wait. 😉
Does anyone have any inside scoop on the Radisson? All the old reviews are basically useless now because so much has changed lately. We’ve already locked in our date, so we’re just trying to figure out if there are any red flags we should watch out for. Honestly, we mostly care about the food and the service—everything else is just extra noise 🙂 Hvalaaaa!

Nicole Allen9 said:Honestly, I think it really just depends on how many courses you go for and what kind of food you're craving, but it usually runs about $55.

I seriously have to give a huge shoutout to the owners, the food is amazing, but honestly, the staff is the absolute best—they're always wearing gloves and they stay super on top of things to make sure the tables are always fully stocked! 😉

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll definitely keep that in mind. 😉

Does anyone happen to know what they're charging for a chair at the Amazon hotel? Also, if there's any other intel you could toss my way, I wouldn't be complaining 🙂 Thanks!

Does anyone have the inside scoop on the Mediterranean resort (like that one spot near the woods)? The location and the venue itself look killer, and honestly, the food at the restaurant seems solid too. My only real hang-up is whether 120 people would feel way too cramped in the indoor area if we get hit with rain... Has anyone actually hosted a party there before?
What’s the deal with the dance floor situation over at the pirate club? It doesn't look particularly massive to me, which is a bit of a problem since I'll probably have about 90% of my crew—that's like 120 people—crowding the dance floor most nights...
rustywalker34 said:It’s all perfectly fine. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service holds up, and the food is decent enough...

Thanks!
