How to master lucid dreaming? in Psychology ·
There are actually several different ways to achieve a lucid dream.
Personally, I rely on the "Wake Induction of Lucid dreams" technique—otherwise known as WILD—where the goal is to transition straight into a dream state without losing consciousness. It’s a pretty "Wild" way to go about it for a few reasons... though you should probably just look up the specific instructions online, because I really don't want to type the whole thing out again—I wrote it once before, lost my connection, and everything just vanished...
Generally speaking, lucid dreaming falls into two distinct categories: wake initiated lucid dreams (WILDs)
and dream initiated lucid dreams (DILDs).

So, WILDs encompass dreams reached via the WILD or VILD methods,
whereas DILDs include things like MILD, CAT, autosuggestion, or LILD...
Essentially, WILDs are those lucid dreams achieved directly from a waking state,
while DILDs are the ones where you gain awareness while already inside a dream.
Now, Wake Back to Bed—or WBTB—is a method where you head to sleep around 5:00 AM, wake yourself up, stay alert for about an hour, and then head right back under the covers. Doing this can boost your chances of a lucid dream by something like 60 percent... and it can be paired with just about any other technique you're using.

Those lucid dreams you guys are having? They're likely just accidental DILDs... assuming they are even true lucid dreams to begin with.
