How to master lucid dreaming? in Psychology ·
When I first heard about lucid dreaming, I was actually pretty intimidated—though, I guess I was also incredibly excited to finally lie down and make it happen.
My first lucid dream went exactly like this (and I remember every bit of it):
Once I slipped into the lucid state, the sound hit me first. It was piano music. I saw another version of myself sitting at this massive grand piano, playing the theme from Requiem for a Dream. For a second, I just stood there watching and listening, until she suddenly turned toward me and reached out a hand, inviting me in. She kept playing the melody using only one hand. Instead of taking her hand, though—maybe out of pure instinct—I backed away a few steps, feeling genuinely spooked. Then, she just dissolved into dust, though the music continued to echo in the distance. I looked up, and red rain started falling. The rain stopped, and my double reappeared. The music had died down by then, which probably meant the song was over. She raised her hands, vanished again, and that was it. Next thing I knew, I was wide awake in bed at 5:00 AM.
