My bank actually gave me a heads-up in time, so I grabbed every cent and moved it straight into my own account. Look, I earned that money. I’m the one who opened the account for my kid, and I’m the one who put my own hard-earned cash into it. In my book, it’s perfectly normal that I should be the one calling the shots with my money, not some social services agency.
