1.5 lbs flour
0.45 lbs honey
0.55 lbs lard
0.55 lbs sugar
black pepper (freshly cracked is way better than pre-ground)
salt
4-5 ground cloves
cinnamon
whole peppercorns
egg wash
egg white

You start by heating the honey and the lard together—doing this over a double boiler works best—and once it’s steaming, you stir in all those spices. Once the mixture cools down just enough to handle, you mix in the egg and the flour until it forms a dough. Toss the whole ball into the fridge to chill, then roll it out to about a quarter inch thick. Cut them into little shapes (I usually go for ants), and then press a few whole peppercorns into each one (you really want that colorful mix of red, black, and white peppercorns for the look). Bake them at 350°F just like any other dough. If you have leftover dough, just knead it again, pop it back in the fridge, and repeat the process. Honestly, they taste their absolute best after sitting for five or six days.

And hey, you Serbo-Canadians, why aren't you bragging about your own local specialties? I was actually really impressed by "zito," which is what people around here use for fish stew.

Yum, yum. If only we could actually try those.
How about some meat too? At least some chicken.
We can roast the chicken ourselves; we don't need a chef to do it for us...
