The frustration of the "waitlist" culture

It feels like every time a hyped product drops, there's always some weird hierarchy of who gets to jump the line first. I hate that feeling of being stuck in limbo while everyone else seems to be getting their hands on the goods. Does anyone else feel like the whole pre-order/reservation system is just a psychological trap?
