Sure, there’s a massive amount of radiation involved, and you really ought to minimize exposure whenever possible, but let's be realistic: it remains the gold standard for getting a rapid, reliable diagnosis when you need to check for brain bleeds... If you're dead set against a CT scan, fine, but if things start taking a turn for the worse—specifically if you deal with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or intense headaches—you absolutely have to head straight to the ER and let the doctors there decide on the next course of action...
