Western Union

Every single month, I receive money via Western Union sent over to the States. But this month, I'm actually traveling through Thailand, and since the transfer went through just like it does every other month, I naturally assumed I could just pick it up anywhere in the world... So, I tried doing that at a local bank here, but they're telling me their system can't locate the transaction because it was originally sent to the US... Is that actually possible???
