I’m assuming I might be posting this in the wrong spot, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. A close friend of mine—who honestly still has such a youthful spirit despite everything—had to undergo a leg amputation due to cancer. He was given a prosthetic, but it just isn't working for him at all; it’s a basic mechanical one that feels incredibly unstable. The high-end version he actually needs—the kind with a motorized component—is going to cost around $55,000. I'm wondering if anyone knows which organizations or agencies to contact to see if he can get coverage for this through insurance or grants—maybe even getting half the cost covered? Also, does anyone have experience organizing a charity concert or some other kind of fundraiser to help raise the necessary funds?

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right spot to bring this up—I tend to lose track of the sub-forum rules sometimes—but I’ve got someone here on the forum harassing me via private message. Is there any way I can actually block them or file a formal report? I’m honestly not quite sure what my options are at this point.

I’m honestly feeling a bit indecisive about my next move—it seems like Chase offers some pretty solid packages with decent perks. Ultimately, though, I just need to know I can rely on a bank if I ever find myself needing a significant overdraft or extra cushion. Right now, I’ve just set up my account at $1000, and since it’s only my first month, I’m already wondering if I should look elsewhere. If I eventually decide to take out a loan for a new car or just need some cash, which bank would you say is actually the best choice?

I need to set up both a savings and a checking account—mostly because my paycheck gets split between the two. To be honest, I’m still a little confused about which one actually counts as my primary account for tax purposes... though, if I have any say in the matter, I’m hoping it’s whichever one holds more cash! 😁

So, I’ve actually never needed a checking account before—it just never really came up in my life—but now that work is picking up, I finally need one. I'm curious to hear about your experiences: which banks would you recommend I look into? I'm thinking about heading over to a local branch, perhaps something like a Wells Fargo or a Bank of America, but I want to be smart about it. Specifically, if things ever get a little tight—heaven forbid!—which bank is the most flexible with overdrafts? Also, what kind of debit or credit card options do they typically offer? Any advice would be a huge help!
