Sex and grammar?!? Seriously? in Psychology ·
briskowl62 said:We all make mistakes when we're typing things out here, but I definitely agree that certain little things can be an eyesore, even if they seem minor. For instance, using weird punctuation or typos like "YOU WOULD" instead of "you would," and stuff like that. Generally, I don't go around correcting people, but I actually appreciate it when someone points out my own slip-ups... it's funny how some people do it just to be condescending, while others genuinely want to help—it’s wild how much those two groups differ. As for correcting grammar during intimacy... well, if we accept someone for who they truly are right from the start, there's really no reason to belittle them in such an awkward, vulnerable moment. If their grammar was such an issue for us, why did we get intimate with them in the first place? Is it just to feel superior or to put them down? I really can't stand that attitude. To me, that's a much bigger issue than any simple typo.

I mean, sure, correcting someone with good intentions is fine, and obviously nobody's gonna correct your syntax in the middle of a hookup... but just because you're getting down or having sex doesn't mean you "adore every single thing about the person"... including their grammar. Like, maybe I love everything about her except for those necklaces she wears, but I'm not gonna pass on sex just because of that... 🙂

It's more about this: if those are the moments where grammar isn't even on your mind, should you really have to tolerate someone correcting you the second the sex is over? Like:
"Hey, remember when you said I was great at [X]? Thanks for the compliment, but actually, I don't do [X], I do [Y]" or something like that?

Sandra Parker3 said:Are you seriously trying to turn this into a debate about grammar and sex now? 🤷

Stop spamming my thread.
Sex and grammar?!? Seriously? in Psychology ·
That’s exactly why I started this thread... It’s true. If people say there's "no time for that" during the heat of the moment, what happens later? Once the hookup—or sex in general—is over, don't they end up saying things like, "Hey, remember when you told me you were really good at..." and then they use the wrong tense or some weird phrasing?

thanks for speaking your mind. honestly, i'm totally on board with everything you said in that post...

Anyway, this isn't really on topic, but just throwing it out there...

anyway, let's try to stick to the topic here...

"Hey, you hot?" 😁 😢

well, if it actually gets to the point where he has to be the one to ask you that, instead of you just throwing it out there... then honestly... just take the "hot" and call it a win instead of sex😂

Wait, does anyone actually do that during cyber sex? 🤣 That’s just too much! 😂

Sex and math? Sure, I guess. But if you mess up a multiplication—or heaven forbid, try to add two numbers while we're virtually hooking up—I'm out. I have standards. Though, I might be a little more lenient with grammar mistakes...

But hey, I'm definitely biased ☕

nobody's done that to me yet, but just speaking hypothetically. If someone tried that, they'd be getting kicked out immediately...
don't get me started on the numbers part,

a stray hair—you know, just fixing that one little thing that doesn't quite fit the perfect
vibe of our connection.
It's like how it bugs me if a girl I'm close to doesn't block the sun
when it's glaring right behind her head and hitting my eyes.
Since I'm not really the type to nag about stuff like women do, I won't say a word,
I'll just gently move her head so she blocks the light for me.🤷

Man... I gotta tell you, I seriously think you're a genius. Those examples are...👍
but I can't tell if you're pulling my leg!

Good luck hunting down those answers you're looking for.👍

You could've done it, but honestly, it looks like you just can't handle the rest of these questions... you're clearly stuck, so what's even the point? I mean, I dropped at least 350 questions on you, damn... fine, okay, if you can't manage that... nothing from you... useless...

Henry Moore2 said:I get everything you’re saying right up until that part about sex. Like, what does sex have to do with whether I decide to correct someone’s grammar or not while we're chatting online?

it's called hot-chatting, read a book. 🙂 It’s basically like being in a spot where people are telling you how they're hooking up, one person's giving them head and the other is just playing with their hair or something... :P
Sex and grammar?!? Seriously? in Psychology ·
Chatting feels like a pretty "experimental setting" for testing things out. Not that anyone should be aiming for that, really. But why not mention the stuff we end up stumbling upon spontaneously...

One thing you can do in chat that you definitely wouldn't do face-to-face is correcting someone else's grammar. If we just toss out that old rule Noah Webster popularized about "writing how you speak"—which basically defines how we handle American English—then things could get a little blunt... Like, if we tell someone for the 1,000th time that they shouldn't write "should of" instead of "should have," and we do it for the 1,001st time, convincing ourselves that we’re just being "incredibly respectful of their individuality." By making that gesture (correcting grammar) we’re supposedly getting closer to that person, building a connection with a real human being... or are we just getting closer to some dead convention that we absolutely need if we want to be, let's be totally honest: functional. [1]

So, what do the people who play grammar police in chats and forums actually think?

And two questions for you:
- For the "tolerant" types—the ones who don't get annoyed: would you actually get mad if your partner[2] interrupted a spicy sext during the heat of the moment just to correct your spelling?
- And for the "tolerant" ones themselves... if you're constantly correcting people's grammar, would you stay true to yourselves during a hot chat and actually derail your partner from sex back to grammar just because they made a typo?

I'm curious if the people who feel the urge to "bring people back" to proper grammar think it's actually their job, like some kind of (!?!) moral obligation... and do they think these "patients" they're trying to "cure" of bad writing even care about writing correctly? I mean, do you think these people wouldn't be able to find the rules on their own if they actually wanted to, even without your help? Or do you think they have no way of knowing how to spell something unless you tell them, leading you to act like you're their only hope for literacy [3], justifying the whole gesture? Maybe you think human memory is just too weak, and even if they read books (at least through middle school), they just can't remember if certain words are joined or separate? If that's the case, why assume they'll remember it when you say it, when they didn't pick it up while reading the book? What's your take on human memory, folks?

[1] Let's be real, anyone knows that a person using "couldve" expresses their ideas just as clearly as someone writing "could have." When someone writes it wrong, they aren't thinking "together" any differently than someone who writes it "separately." It's the exact same thought.
[2] Sexting, ... online roleplay, "what we'd do if we were alone and nobody was watching."
[3] ... (considering all the books where that person could easily see the correct way to write it) ....
why do some girls you only know from online, especially when they live halfway across the country, act like you're just trying to score once you start chatting...
Christian Sanchez4 said:You really ought to watch your tone, Robin Jackson9. With posts like this, you'll quickly go from being "quietly noticeable" to just plain narrow-minded.😉 🙂

Can we get back to the topic?

restrict my sister then, you jerk.
what would you guys even associate them with if that were the case... just thinking out loud here... :/
Christian Sanchez4 said:I actually had a bit of a debate with him about this recently, it was wild🤣

Basically, we were watching Yo-Yo Ma and I found her absolutely stunning. I started rambling about how everything about her performance felt so erotic—you know, the way she sits with her legs spread wide and all that—and he actually agreed, just from a completely different angle.
For me, seeing her play always brings to mind nothing but self-pleasure. For him, though, it’s purely physical; he sees her body as the focal point, making the whole thing erotic, whereas to him, the instrument isn't a sexual metaphor at all—it’s just a cello (which is honestly baffling to me, especially coming from Him😕 who usually has such a vivid imagination🤔 and isn't exactly straight-laced😁)
Yeah, when I see a cellist positioned like that, wedged between those open legs, it screams high-quality, skillful, truly passionate masturbation to me. I love watching her, whether she's sitting there or moving around with the cello, riding it, getting lost in the rhythm and the sound and whatever else.😁
We eventually moved the conversation toward Slash and my take on that scene where he walks out of the church and starts his guitar solo. My interpretation was intensely sexual again; I view Slash’s guitar as a woman in the hands of a true professional, someone who makes her wail and cry out in pure ecstasy while he simultaneously melts away under the sweet agony of it all.🙈

Though, I have to admit, Angus Young only ever reminds me of an autistic child fixated on a toy.😁

Man, I guess that's just how laypeople think, that you have to force it to make it "wail"... I don't even know which song you mean, maybe I should just send you a pic of me with my guitar so you can masturbate while you cheat on your boyfriend👍 Just kidding, btw. This whole masturbation association is kind of... eh, unrealistic. Here, just use me instead, forget about 🤣that guy
Sandra Parker3 said:Which one?

You've got it wrong—I wasn't posting naked women. That woman is a violinist, a stripper, and a poet.
I'm pretty sure you just stumbled onto her while Googling. I was just giving you another example of... what? 😕
Here's the article if you actually care to read it. I didn't dive in, just skimmed it, and honestly, she doesn't seem much like a poet to me... but hey, to each their own. 🤷

Alright fine, whatever, you didn't post them if you say so.🤷 Personally, I'm not feeling her fit physique because being muscular isn't really feminine to me, plus I don't think that hair works with her face (there I go sounding like a guy now...) 🤣

So, the one I posted is Alicia, and she sings "Strip Me." I have zero clue what that actually means, but I bet it's something intense 🤣 man, I don't know what "Strip Me" translates to exactly, but if someone told me that, I'd be like... wow... come on, admit she's hot? 🤣 And why are you asking who she is? (Yeah, okay, I was Googling late last night and couldn't find any random naked girl or whatever)
Sandra Parker3 said:I wouldn't know for sure, but once you're stuck, I guess it's just 😉

A woman? And why are there naked women on this forum anyway?🤣 Just tell me what your vibe is... like, what kind of impression are they actually leaving on you...
Zachary Mendoza2 said:I find myself equally captivated by the image of a nude violinist. I am not sure about you, but to me, there is an inherent sense of culture and sophistication in that imagery—it creates such a palpable tension. It is far more elevated than just seeing a naked woman who, once she starts talking, sounds like she’s herding sheep in the Midwest. "What are you looking at?" It simply isn't the same experience, is it?

nah, nah... forgot to mention I’ve got a thing for high collars. Check this one out, she’s singing "violins, violins"... even though there aren't any actual violins in the video.
Once I stop being obsessed with every other girl I see, then maybe I can finally call myself cured, right? 🙂
