Steven Cox5 said:Hey. Just wanted to drop a note that I finally got a diagnosis. It's microscopic lymphocytic colitis. My colonoscopy looked normal, but once the biopsy results came back, they described half a page worth of inflammation stretching all the way from the terminal ileum down. Currently on Budesonide 3 x3 mg for 6 weeks, sticking to Modulen, some basmati rice, and fish broth—just water for me since meat upsets my stomach. Still feeling pretty rough, though. Had a massive bleed, but my OB/GYN managed to stop it with birth control. We'll see how things go; my GI mentioned maybe adding Imuran if this doesn't work. Just wanted to share that we finally have an answer!

Hey Steven Cox5, how are you doing? Hope you're holding up okay... reading your post, I honestly can't believe everything you've been through. It's pathetic how incompetent those doctors were, and even worse that they didn't seem to care enough to act faster before things got this bad. It's insane how long it takes them to get a diagnosis. Which hospital did you go to? Let us know so we stay far away from there... Best.
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
I've got an anal fissure and grade 3 hemorrhoids, so life is just great... honestly, every time I hit the bathroom, it feels like I'm heading straight into a war zone. I'm just praying everything goes okay!! I've been dealing with this fissure since 2013; it heals up a little and then just pops right back up again. Does anyone know a good proctologist working at a hospital? I don't want to go to a private clinic because if things go south or some shit happens, they'll just dump you at a hospital anyway..lp

Look, let me comfort you a bit—I’ve got a fissure and hemorrhoids, so trust me, this is a total nightmare.

I first dealt with this about 10 years ago. My job back then was just constant damn walking from one machine to another, so there wasn't any sitting or standing involved that people usually blame. My digestion was regular—actually, maybe even too regular if you ask me😉—so that couldn't have been the cause either. And I only weighed 120 lbs, so being overweight definitely wasn't it.
I hit the gym every day and went to weight training three times a week (didn't lift heavy, so I guess we can rule out intense strain), ate home-cooked meals daily, tons of fruit and veggies, and mostly avoided bread.
And you want to know what kind of hemorrhoids I had? The kind where blood was literally gushing out every single time I had a damn bowel movement—which happened 2 or 3 times a day (what can I say, I eat like that, so I go like that😁). I ended up right on the edge of anemia because of the daily bleeding.
Eventually, I went in for laser cauterization. You need three sessions, but I ended up doing six (six people, seriously!!!)🙏. I had peace for about 10 years, and then a month ago, it hit me so hard I couldn't even get out of bed... went back to the doctor and, yeah... looks like it might finally be time for surgery. If you ask me, I’d cut off half my ass just to make this stop driving me crazy.
And it's always that same question: why, why, why? For God's sake, if I only knew what I was doing wrong, I wouldn't do it anymore!
My quality of life is trashed again... my whole existence has basically shrunk down to eating, lying around, pooping, washing, and applying cream.🤦
