Seeking support for suicidal thoughts

Having gone through my own kind of total meltdown nearly a year ago—back when I was SERIOUSLY considering ending it all—I’ve come to think that you don't always need to step in and save people. If someone has truly hit rock bottom, if life has become genuinely UNBEARABLE, then maybe we should just let them make that choice for themselves. It's their life, after all. But then again, there are times when saving someone is absolutely necessary, and honestly, it's incredibly hard to tell the difference 🤷.
If I actually tried to intervene, what would I even say? I’d probably end up philosophizing for hours on end 😁, I suppose. Mostly, I’d just keep searching, talking it out, until we stumbled upon some meaningful reason for that person to keep going. At the end of the day, people just need to be heard. And I mean really, truly listened to.
